Hi Ladies! The DH and I have been TTC to no success. I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and am not sure where this journey will go. I started Provera on Monday and then will be starting Clomid on days 3-7 of AF. My doctor told me to start the OPK's on day 11.
I honestly am trying to figure out what PCOS means and the chances of getting pregnant on Clomid (or at all) since my doctor said he can't give a number. I knew he couldn't but something more positive would have made me feel better.
I am trying to stay positive but just starting out, I'm sure you ladies know how scary it is. I go back to the doctor in 4 weeks and plan on bringing a list of questions! Any suggestions?
Here's hoping to good vibes!
Thanks for reading!

I also have PCOS, and the lack of information can be annoying. You kind of have to dig around a bit. But, if it makes you feel better, my doctor has me on the same medication as you. We did a round of clomid at 50 and no O, so this round we bumped it up to 100. I did get a positive OPK on day 13 and now I'm in the tww. From what I've read on the internet and from what my Dr. has said, most women with PCOS do go on to conceive. Keep us updated on your journey!

  • Welcome! I have PCOS also and I know exactly how you feel. I am in my second month of Clomid, metformin and dexamethasone. I ovulated the first month which was a huge success! Good luck to you! You have come to the right place for support when things are rough and celebration when things go well :)

  • I do not have much information for you, as I have not been diagnosed with PCOS, but I wanted to say welcome and baby dust for you!
  • Hey, I also have been diagnosed with PCOS since started the TTC journey almost 2 years ago. I'm currently on round 4 of clomid and am on 100mg with follicle tracking at the moment.
I've also been told good things about women with PCOS conceiving with the right monitoring. I think the biggest thing is for you to actually start ovulating!
Keep us posted on your journey. I'm back in next week for some scans to see if there are any follicles- let's hope so.
It can be a long slog and just be prepared for the roller coaster of emotions.
  • Ladies I am so sorry I take forever to answer! I don't know why I don't get notifications when someone comments even though my profile is set to and then I forget to check! Fail on my part!! Sorry!!

  • To update a bit:
I am on CD5, and started Clomid on CD3. I took Provera and I only had me spotting but my dr said to take it on day 3 because a bleed is a bleed. I'm really praying this works to even start my ovulation so I can feel more positive about this!

  • Hi girls! We been TTC for one year and found out I had PCOS. I'm on first round of 50mg Clomid. Starter day 3 and ended day 7. On day 9 of my cycle I experienced some of the side effects with bad headache, upset stomach, stomach cramps and nausea. It lasted for one day then small headache for another couple of days. According to O-test I Ovulated on day 13. Couple of days after that I had creamy white DC which lasted until day 24 of my cycle. I'm now on day 26 and have a little DC but bearly noticeable. Is the DC because of the clomid or sign of pregnancy? I'm too scared to get disappointed to hope the latter. Thanks guys and stay strong everyone! Our turn will come. We must believe in that!!!
  • Welcome! I also have PCOS as well as endometriosis. There is info out there but like prior posters said you have to dig for it. I found for myself working out and being active helps with some of the issues. But it will not make them go away. People can get pregnant with PCOS to but it can take longer or not long at all. What it does to your body is gives you a irregular cycle or no cycle at all. Which if your going 60 days with out a cycle you should call and get provera to jump start. However some women who have it have normal cycles but they just may or may not ovulate. On the Clomid all that does is it tricks your body so it thinks your estrogen is low and here for causes your body to make more FSH and LH to help get you to ovulate. And it can work with 80% of women but not all of them will end in a BFP. But getting to ovulate is the first part of the battle. Myself I respond to the 50mg and am on round two. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions! Good luck.
