Bleeding every month around period time

So since DS was born I have been on a perfect 28 day cycle. With this pregnancy, I had my first spotting right on the day my September period would have been due. (All was good with baby- US confirmed).
I started bleeding heavily again yesterday, again, the day my period would have been due this month. US confirmed baby is good. My cervix is high thick and closed. Shot of progesterone to stop the cramping and 48 hours bedrest.
Coincidence???? I have heard of women still having periods while pregnant and then not knowing they're pregnant and going into labor... But this is only a one day spotting. Anyone else done this? Just thought it was interesting...

    I have heard this before too... spotting around period time...  Hopefully it goes away!

    I don't know how often it happens but my mom had a period the first 5 months or something like that she was pregnant with my brother so she didn't find out she was pregnant until later in the pregnancy. She said it was lighter than a full on period but it was enough she didn't know she was pregnant.
