Eczema

I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and my eczema has been flared up for the past few weeks. I don't want to use my prescription steroid creams since I don't want to absorb it into my system. Any recommendations?

Re: Eczema

  • What did your doctor advise you to do? I've found this gel product called melagel made by Melaleuca. It really cleared up a patch of eczema I'd had for years. I'm fairly certain it's ok for pregnancy, you could check it out.
Also, if your username is your real email address, I'd suggest changing it.

  • I know this was posted a few days ago, but I just wanted to suggest using crisco. It comes in the blue container. You just shower and then when you dry off, apply it to the area where the flare up is. Then put on old clothes that you don't mind staining. It may take a few weeks to like a month or 2 but it should help heal your eczema. My mom did that with my sister. My sister stopped having eczema outbreaks and just has few dark spots now and she is 21. We did this when she was 2. Hopefully that helps. I also suggest getting up a little earlier in the morning to shower again.

  • I used cortisone for ezcema. Worked exactly the same for me as prescribed creams. I got it at Walmart.
  • You should change your name, Internet safety and all. My OB said hydrocortisone is okay if it's the 1%. It's working well for me!
  • Talk to your OB. I used Aveno to take the edge off.

  • I used coconut oil and it worked wonders!

Also, change yo username! There are creeps on the internet.

  • I use neutrogria Norwegian formula? I've used it for years and it's the only thing that keeps it away.
  • I'm on the same boat! I've been having bad flare-ups for almost two weeks and I only found out I'm PG 6 days ago. Just got this and it's working really well! Inexpensive and no steroids.
