Antenatal Expression of Colostrum?

Basically pumping breast milk before baby gets here. Anybody ever heard of/tried it before? Just saw something on Pinterest about it & am going to ask my OB next week, if it's safe to try. I had to supplement with my first which eventually made me give up breastfeeding entirely but I feel like if I have this as back up it may help this time around.

    I don't know how to link you to a specific post, but there's been a discussion going on about this already it's called "anyone else expressing colostrum before birth?" It's on pg 2 right now.

    Use the search function. This topic was just covered 2 days ago. Expressing ahead of time will not increase your production.
    Get an LC to help you once the baby is born.

    I did use the search function actually. I just searched "antenatal expression" which nothing came up when I searched that.

    Thanks for letting me know about the other thread. Based on what everyone's said on it I think I'm just going to wait til baby's here.
