1st Trimester

Depression

Hi Ladies...Anyone else just feeling depressed? I'm not overwhelmed, in fact, I'm super excited about the baby and shopping for him/her. I'm a little worried about the baby being healthy etc, but nothing that I thought would bring on this level anxiety and depression I feel. It's so hard to explain, I just generally don't want to be awake and nothing is making me happy in the moment. Although, I feel like I have a clear head about the big picture and that I know I am ultimately happy.

Please tell me that there are others out there that feel this way so I can stop feeling so crazy.

  • There are others that feel this way. You can stop feeling crazy. Stop beating yourself up because you don't feel like you're supposed to.

  • You're not alone and what you're feeling can be common during pregnancy with all the changes your body experiences, etc.. but if it continues to get worse, bring it to your doctors attention.
  • Thanks ladies! I've seen a few threads but the women seemed like they knew where their feelings stemmed from. I feel like I don't understand myself or my feelings and it's driving me nuts.

  • Girl pregnancy is hard! But we're supposed to enjoy it because it's what our bodies are meant to do. No! My first trimester, I was miserable. My back and hips hurt all the time, I could barely stand up without my belly hurting, I bloated so bad that I had to start wearing maternity at 8 weeks. Our hormones are amped up and that doesn't help matters at all, either. It's okay to feel this way. However, if it gets too bad, you should bring it into your doctor.
