lost of appetite

So it's been for days now since I've been hungry. I've had to force myself to eat anything lately. I can go the whole day without eating then i realise i haven't eaten so i force myself to eat them i get really nauseous afterwards. I've tried light snacks and still get nauseous so i know ours not the amount I'm eating. I've called my midwife because i don't see her till Tuesday and i don't want to wait that long not eating properly. I'm still waiting on a call back . I know it's not an emergency so probably won't get a call back today so that's why I'm asking you ladies got some advice our some reassurance something

Re: lost of appetite

  • I went through the same thing from about 32w to 35w. It's normal. Just make sure you are forcing yourself to eat small snacks throughout the day.

I've tried that and still end up puking

  • If even small snacks are making you nauseous/pukey, maybe try some Ensure?  Or other kinds of liquid-food, smoothies, juices, milk.  Just to make sure you're getting some nutrients and calories.

I have occasional off days where nothing sounds appetizing, I only have 1 or 2 small meals, then I'm up in the middle of the night starving b/c my body just realized how few calories I ate.  Sargento, I think, makes these "balanced break" snack packs that are just some little bits of cheese, nuts and dried fruit, they're hardly anything and easy to eat if you just can't think of anything but need food in your system.

  • My whole pregnancy has been this way. I eat but probably not enough. I think I've gained 5 or 6 pounds total at 34 weeks, but baby is growing fine so I have no worries. You likely have plenty of reserves. I almost can't wait to not be pregnant just to want to eat again. Try not to stress it.

  • Try to eat some food that hopefully won't be too upsetting. Maybe a nice smoothie?

I've had this problem all pregnancy except I'm hungry but for nothing in particular. I'm down in weight from my pregnancy weight by 3 lbs (slowly gained in back).

    GOOD LUCK!
