Anyone else eat all day long?

As soon as I start feeling queasy, I eat something and am able to stave off MS. I start off in the morning at work with my baggies of apples, carrots, pumpkin seeds, and a banana. That lasts me from 8-11. At noon I grab a salad or sandwich for lunch, but I can't eat it all because I'm full from the snacking. So I save half of it for the mid-afternoon queasiness. I grab some crackers for my commute home and eat half my dinner at 6 and half about 8 before bed.

One of these days my coworkers are going to call me out on this new routine bc obviously only a pregnant woman would eat like this!! Does anyone else do this? I feel fantastic right now, so it seems t be working.

  • The weekend I got te BFP it was goldfish crackers and cookies until H kindly suggested that the reason my pants were already tight could be my choice of foods.  Don't worry, I sprinkle my fruits and veggies with my fair share of chocolate!
  • I definitely eat like that. I have to eat often to keep my nausea from getting worse. But, I eat frequently, pregnant or not.

  • Yeah I try not to, but I do. I don't even really have MS to blame, I'm just hungry a lot.

  • Yup! I'm eating all day. There's days where i don't bring enough snacks and end up devouring my lunch at 8:00 a.m. :(
  • Yes.
    Yes I do.

Though, your snack choices are more healthy than mine ;)

I've been trying to make healthy choices...I always have fruit & veggies packed when I'm at work...but it's much harder when I'm at home. Regardless of my snacking throughout the day, I'm still always SO hungry by the time I'm home. I have to snack before dinner, then again after. It's ridiculous.

  • I'm usually the kind of person who "garbage cans" the fridge when I get home, but I just haven't been hungry at all. No MS, no hunger, nothing, all day. DH is worried and keeps cooking me some delicious foods though! Win!
  • Yup. I ate all of my large lunch by 10:45 today. I was like, "why did I only pack 9 lunch items???" :-?

  • Yeah, this is me!!! All day eating. Some is healthy some isn't /: my husband has been grocery shopping and he brings home mostly healthy snacks, but is ok with junk on the weekends. He joked about locking me in the basement and only feeding me cucumbers haha.
  • YES! But with all the podcasts I heard, this is the way to keep MS at bay. One expert recommends eating when you wake up to pee at night, so that you do not wake up with low blood sugar, which can trigger MS.

I eat string cheese all the time, boiled eggs, dried apricots, dried apples, raw celery and raw carrots, pumpkin seeds and nuts. And I drink sips of Keffir all day long. For meals I eat essentially the same soup for every meal. It's a chicken veggie soup i make myself that is just filled with veggies. Honestly, when you break it down, it's mostly veggies and water so I can eat a HUGE pot in 2 days.

I have a chronic disease (interstitial cystitis) that means I have to be on a super strict diet all the time, so this is pretty much all I can eat, but it's healthy and so far at 6 weeks not even a hint of nausea!

It's been a long road- Let's just say that!
  • I eat lots of little meals all day long. I try to stick to the healthier options, but I need the carbs to keep full. I am getting really picky with my food. I have a lunchbox full of snacks but I don't want to eat any of it!
  • Morning sickness? Try all day sickness. From the moment I open my eyes to when I go to bed I am queasy. I have to eat about every 1.5 to 2 hours or it gets really bad. Dinner has been a challenge the past couple days. Poor hubby has been fending for himself as even the thought of cooking makes me sick. Ginger ale, Gatorade, crackers and chicken soup are all I have been eating this week. I normally eat a mostly vegetarian and very lean meat diet, not now though. I really hope this passes soon.

Yup. I feel way too sick if i dont. Its causing me to gain probably more weight than I should but food is the only thing that is letting me function. Trying to stick with the small meals things and also being a bit picky too. Definitely stare at some food and just do NOT want to eat it. I just feel like I constantly need heavy foods.
  • Yes.. all day long! I want to make healthier options but mostly don't feel like cooking so fast food it is... ughh
I am trying Seabreeze the band for nausea and so far so good, we will see how long it lasts.
  • Yes! I'm most queasy in the morning and in the evening, but during the day, I can and do eat all day. Because of the queasiness and the nutrition, my lunch has started to look like a 3 year old's lunch. Today it's Annie's mac and cheese, string cheese, carrot-orange-ginger juice, airpopped popcorn, applesauce, veggie straws, and an organic juicebox. .
  • Yes, and unfortunately this is contributing to all the bloat! I work with a friend who is 20 weeks pregnant and I look like I'm further along than she is. UGH.

  • All day, every day.
  • Yes! And I am not dealing with it well. I was following a great eating plan before the MS hit and now I'm so far off I can't stand it. I've been liking meats so that's good but I feel so bloated. If I never have soda again it'll be ok with me. Every time I have sugar (carbs, etc) I get this awful taste in my mouth and end up eating more to try to get rid of it. Ughhh!

  • I have the opposite problem - I'm just not hungry. Not that food makes me sick, I just don't have an appetite and nothing sounds good. I have been living off of string cheese, turkey/cheese/spinach wraps, and cereal when I do get hungry. Trying to figure out a way to work in some more fruits and veggies has been challenging :/
  • I am also eating like a child due to the MS all day long. Fries, pb sandwich, granola bar, and chicken nuggets.

I am determined to make me a healthy soup now. I'm too petite to be eating like this. I was up 5lbs at my first appointment from my regular weight. Granted I did have clothes and shoes on, but I swear all the weight is going to my boobs.

I do this. I keep feeling like I'm going to gain a bunch of weight eating all day so I'm trying to keep everything healthy and nutrient dense for the calories I'm eating. I'm doing something like a protein bar for breakfast, high protein yogurt for my after breakfast snack, fruit (like a banana) and some cottage cheese for lunch and then a healthy dinner. Sometimes if I'm having a dessert craving I'll bake half a pear with a little cinnamon and a light dusting or sugar or something after dinner.

ETA: somehow I've lost 3 pounds in the last week which I hope is okay. I was a bit chubby when I got pregnant so I could lose another 3 pounds or so and still be at the top end of "healthy" BMI.

  • I'm eating so much and I have no ms. I really need to get it under control because it's bad. I'm starving most of the day.
  • I don't eat when I'm nauseous, too scared I'll throw up. I've been trying to eat small things though. I mostly snack on veggies and apples. H has taken over all the cooking and grocery shopping because I just can't look at food without getting sick.

I feel the exact same way. I bring snacks and lunch to work with all of the intentions to eat but I can't. I'm literally forcing myself to eat. I make dinner and I can't even eat what I make. I eat cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, and apples. That's all that tastes good to baby and me right now.
  • Yep. It's the only way to keep MS at bay. I eat two breakfasts (usually about 30 mins apart), then a snack an hour later, then lunch, then another lunch and then I'm pretty good the rest of the day. I figure I'm consuming all my calories before 2, but I feel good the rest of the day, so....
  • I am eating CONSTANTLY!! I have always had a healthy appetite but this is ridiculous! I'm eating ham and cheese sandwiches for breakfast, something I would never have dreamed of doing pre pregnancy! But, I'm enjoying it all the same, if there's one time in our lives when we should be able to eat what we want, it's during this "fun ride" called pregnancy!
