Painful false contractions

Dear God what am I in for! Last night I had an hour of strong dull lower back pain with a lot of tightening to the point my vagina tightened too, weird, with cramps. I started timing them until I realized they were fading away and not coming on as fast. It hurt though...is labor close or do I just have to deal with more of these false alarms? I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow, EDD 10/29

    I still feel achy from it this morning, almost like it could happen again. Anyone experience this? Did it turn into the real deal. Also TMI this pain happened to me after some loving from hubby.

    Unfortunately it doesn't mean much. I've been getting strong cramps and contractions that wake me up in the middle of the night, sometimes pretty regular, for 2 weeks now. ): I'm due 10/28.

    I experienced the same thing with DD for the 5 days before delivery. I'm having it now as well. I had them for about four hours the other night, actually was prepared to go into L&D but then they stopped. It felt like i had been hit by a truck the next day. With DD they didn't get me any more dialated or anything like that, but this time around they are doing a little bit. My best advice is take a warm bath or shower to soothe the pain. It won't always work, but it helped me a lot and also helped stop the cramping. (Now in real labor, the water may help with pain still, but the contractions will not stop - so it can be helpful if you are trying to judge if it's the real thing or not.)

    Yup same here, it's really discouraging! It always happens at night to me too. Every other night I think "this is it!" And it definitely has not been so far :(
