Clomid round 3...help!

So 50mg worked.. But didn't conceive . Ok I can deal , at least I finally ovulated and got thee chance . Next round 100mg didn't work!!! So confusing. So doctor said lets not wait until the next Period and just start more clomid. Now I just finished with 5 days of 150mg. Has anyone done that? Did it kick things into gear? I'm so nervous about my appointment to see if any of my follicles have matured . I have been having more than normal hot flashes and I'm hoping that means it's working. Any tips suggestions? What do I do if clomid doesn't work? What other drugs are out there to help me ovulate? I'd like to hope for the best but be prepared with a plan if it doesn't work this time ...

    How many follicles did you produce the first round on 50mg? I went from a higher dosage and only produced 1 mature follicle, then lower dosage with injections and produced 4. I also produced 1 in a natural cycle with no clomid. The injections really helped. What CD were you on when Doc added 150mg to your already 100mg clomid cycle?

    Married: 8/29/2009
    TTC- since we got married (off and on)
    TTC with focus: Since July 2015
    Currently had 2 rounds of failed IUIs, failed TI monitored cycle
    December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle
    January 2016: Retrieval
    March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb)
    April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.

    I produced one follicle so that's why they upped the dose looking for two next round. I had finished my 5 days and then two days later I was in for the ultrasound and he had me start the 150 that same day. So should I be asking for injections if this round didn't work? What are the names of the injections they gave you?

    Clomid is the first fertility meds they pass out.  There are lots of options before you should start freaking out.  There is also Letrozole another oral med.  Some people response better to Letrozole.  Then you can add injectables if you max out on oral meds.  Your RE should know the drill about injectables.  You are seeing an RE right?

    Yes I am .Thank you for replying ! And reminding me not to freak out ! I just hadn't really thought about what to do after clomid . My mind just focused on it working and that was that , so now that there is a chance of it failing I am starting to figure out where the heck I go from here ! But I'll just have to see what the follicles look like tomorrow ! Fingers crossed!

    Agree with @bsckgb7 that your RE will know the drill. My RE actually lowered my dosage when I only produced 1, like yourself. I went from 100mg a day to 50mg. I also talked to him about the letrozole for my 2nd cycle, but he was against that and put me on injections instead. (follistim). Depends on your RE's preference and how he/she sees your body responding. It never hurts to ask.

    Hi all, Thank you for all of the help and advice. Went in today and the follicles responded but need to get larger. Go back Friday to see if they grew . Has anyone experienced this? did your follicles end up getting to the right size? they are at 14 and need to be at 18... my RE says he is optimistic that they will grow..
