Hi everyone I'm new here. I was on 50mg of clomid and just had our first IUI cycle cancelled due to 7 mature follicles and an E2 level of 1800. Has anyone ever had this happen and did you still BD at home?
I had 9 with my first Scheduled IUI and they cancelled it. I was devastated. They told me not to have sex and we didn't. IUI #2 didn't work for us. We are now on track for IUI #3 and I'm Hopi g this works... Looking back- I kind of wish we did have sex with the first......
If the IUI was canceled, it's because you are risking multiples. If you BD you are taking the same risk. I wouldn't chance it. That estradoil level indicates a higher number of mature follicles (200 per mature follicle). Especially if it's your first.
ETA: If you were on your 3rd or 4th IUI and they hadn't worked, then I might BD. But not on your first.
2 days ago my estradiol was 2800 and I had 8 follicles, I was told there's a chance my cycle would be cancelled. Yesterday estradiol went down to 2200. The specialist concludes that due to our male factor issues the chance of success was pretty low anyway and we proceeded with iui done this morning. 2WW!
I'm editing this because I didn't read clearly enough to see that the choice was made, and I did not intend to highlight risks of something that this stage (I only meant to discuss risks if you were still sorting it out). Good luck!
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
Hi everyone. Thanks for the replies. We decided to BD with no success. Now my RE wants to put me on birth control due to cysts. It took 3 years to regulate my cycle from the depo and I can't imagine screwing that up again. So frustrating, especially when we are being told I have to be on the pill for 4-6 months.
