I am in a little predicament with scheduling prenatal care & making plans to deliver. We just moved to Pittsburgh from Florida...I had 2 AMAZING delivery experiences with my midwife, whom I adore in Florida. The hospital was incredible. I am talking---nurses rubbing my feet, lactation consultants at each boob (haha!), never-ending praise and adoration showered upon me by the whole staff like I was the only woman who ever gave birth. The palm trees and views of the ocean outside my window weren't bad either! I just cannot say enough about how much I LOVE this hospital and my midwife in Florida.
I already have a bad taste in my mouth from my prospective options here (I know they have a hard act to follow)...It was sort of a joke at first...but am getting more serious about just planning on renting a house in FL for the 6 weeks surrounding my due date (we have friends that would probably either let us stay for free or give us a really low price) and just having my baby there instead.
What are your thoughts---is anyone else contemplating birthing across the country? hahaha!
Re: Would you do this? "BIRTH-CATION"
Absolutely! Do what you makes you feel most comfortable. As long as all your ducks are in order with insurance etc, I think it's a great idea!
P.s. Is it sad that being in the hospital for two days after giving birth is considered a mini vacation to me?! :-p
