What kind of exercise do you do when you are ttc? I've been doing a high intensity circuit class twice a week and I'm wondering if I should keep going. How is everyone keeping fit?
I try to walk at least a mile every other day, either on the treadmill or out with my dogs. I recently bought a Fitbit and this helps me track my exercise and sleep too. I love it!
I continue with weights and cardio of all types. I've Bren told by my OB that continuing exercise you are accustomed too as long as you stay hydrated and don't valsalva (bear down closing your throat and holding your breath) is good. However in was doing Bounce fit during my pregnancy which ended on MMC. I know of no good science to say that the jumping is related to MC, but I feel to nervous to pursue it again if pregnant or possibly pregnant.
Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one doing lots of exercise. Last pregnancy I stopped exercising because I had horrible morning sickness so gained a bit of weight I'm still getting rid of. @bgf1 i was actually considering doing bounce fit so might avoid it just in case.
I go to Orange Theory six days a week. It's one hour of high intensity interval training -- is that what you do? I'm not sure if there's a difference between circuit training and interval training.
I joined the gym on an ovulation day and ended up having a chemical pregnancy that month, which makes me wonder a little. But that was my second loss, and my doctor said chemical pregnancies are really common. I'm 37, so it was probably an egg quality issue rather than a gym issue.
Working out makes me feel better physically and mentally and makes my body a healthier place for a baby to live in and will make labor and delivery easier. So I feel good about that. I gained weight because of morning sickness during my first pregnancy (MMC) as well, so I wanted to get rid of that and prepare for the next time. And my doctor said there was no need for any restrictions at the beginning of pregnancy, so I feel comfortable with everything.

It was likely not connected, but if exercised successfully through one high risk pregnancy and this was the only thing different during my lost pregnancy. So now I am like a ball player who won't wear his unlucky socks
@CarrieandRoy it might be. It's stations a trainer sets up and you rotate between them doing 2 sets of high intensity 30 secs with a 15 sec break between.
I was just a bit worried but I didn't want to mention it to the p.t. because I feel like I'll have to explain why I'm trying so soon after being pregnant (he knows I was pregnant and gave birth because my core muscles have split but didnt tell him my son had passed).
@LilLambie, I guess circuit training and interval training are different. We usually do half an hour on the treadmill at varying speeds and inclines, and half an hour on the "floor" doing a variety of stuff.
I told them right away when I found out I was pregnant in case I had to do anything differently. Unfortunately, that meant I had to tell them I miscarried a week later. One of the employees was taking a class with me the day I found out I was losing the pregnancy and she said something about me being pregnant and I started crying. So embarrassing. I went to the restroom, composed myself, and managed to finish the class.
