Still not 100% sure on gender

I had two ultrasound within 2 weeks of each other. On the first one the tech said girl, then said boy later in the scan. On the second one she said boy but did the scan so fast I couldn't tell for sure that it was definitely a boy. But I thought at this point I would know for absolutely sure but baby moved so much. I am 99.9 percent sure that it's a boy, but has anyone had a tech be wrong? I know it should be super obvious with a boy...

Unfortunately the only 100% confirmation of the sex of your child is after you give birth. Techs can always be wrong. Depending on how far along you are, I would trust your most recent ultrasound and tech.

20 weeks. This tech was really fast but seemed more experienced than the first one.

I would think it is easier to spot a penis in a scan than not? Meaning if she saw something, its a boy. If she didn't see anything, it could go either way.

You're correct. It is impossible to be 100% sure of the gender. Now if you would like to confirm the SEX you have two options. Either go to a boutique later on to confirm that the baby is a boy or wait it out until birth.

I think if they say there's a penis, there is a penis.. Regardless of how long it takes them to check for it, you know?

Sorry but this is wrong. My parents were told they were having a little boy and I was going to have a little brother the entire pregnancy... Everyone was shocked to learn my mother gave birth to a 10lb2oz girl. The only DEFINITIVE way to know sex of baby is birth.

It didn't hold true for me either. She saw the penis and then on my next scan it had magically vanished. I'll be sure when the baby is born.

Oh don't tell me this! Lol... I am baking boy #5... found out at 12w5.... and I have hotter totally excited (I felt boy all along).... but my joke to everyone is.. "it isn't gonna fall off"

They told me boy at 15 or 16 weeks? I found out at 21 weeks that it was a girl. I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket based of those early sex guesses.

sometimes at early scans they say girl cause the boy parts aren't showing enough yet

When I had my anatomy scan the tech was very quick to tell us what it was. They do this all day, multiple days a week, so they know what to look for. Did she show you the "parts" so you could confirm? It's pretty obvious at 20 weeks if its got boy parts.

How many years ago was that? I'm not debating that it's not an exact science, but the technology has come pretty far in recent years.

First tech said something about 3lines and second one did not show me. I am going to believe its a boy just cause the 20 week scan should be more accurate.

My tech said that their equipment is so much better, even in the last 2 years....I was told I'm having a boy at 10 weeks...I haven't painted or bought anything...but my whole doctors office seems convinced that the technology is reliable these days.

This! I have to have ultrasounds every 2 weeks and at every ultrasound they have said girl. Im in denial that it is a girl only because there has been no girls on my husband's side for generations.
