Hey ladies! I'm 36 weeks and LO dropped about a week and a half ago. Since he's dropped, I've been having more and more pain in my pelvis as he puts more pressure there. Today the pain was really bad to the point where it was difficult to move. I didn't really sleep last night because I was so uncomfortable and rolling from side to side hurt.
Do any of you have any tips for what I can do to take away some of the pain/discomfort? these 4 weeks are going to be awfully rough if I can't get some relief!
I'm planning on talking to my midwife at my appointment Tuesday but if you have any tips to help me out until then, I'd appreciate it!
Re: Tips for pelvic pain from baby dropping?
I've had pelvic pain since the 2nd trimester. You just learn to cope with it.
Now that I'm 38 weeks, my pelvis and crotch feel like they've been rammed by a truck. Impossible to sleep. I feel your pain for sure.
I don't have a support band (and I was hesitant about getting one because I'm cheap on only have 4 weeks left), but if it helps the pain, i think it'd be money well spent. November 14th can't get here fast enough!
But for all you mamas who use birthing balls at the moment and spend time on them. How long would you say you're using them for each day? Little bursts or long periods? I can not for the life of me remember what I did with My other two. I've been sitting on it in the evenings for 40 mins and then my back hurts and I give up!
When I just want to sit and not be on the ball, I will often sit on the edge of the sofa with my legs spread so my belly is pointing slightly down. That seems to help.
I've found it really comfortable to get on my knees and lean forwards onto the ball with my arms crossed (and my head on my arms) then I can slowly rock back and forth whilst leaning on the ball. No pelvic relief but I like how it stretches my back.
Yes, you need a pump to blow it up. Some come with them. You'll have to read the box.
