How do I regulate my supply at 6 months postpartum? I don't want to have to pump as much! I EBF but work full time so I pump twice during the work day. Additionally, here is my feeding/pumping schedule.
Stop pumping and milk will eventually regulate. Every time you pump you are telling your body that you need more milk so it continues to produce that amount. X
My milk regulated at 4 months. I've been ebf for 5 months and counting. Don't stop pumping. I returned to work as well. I nursed on demand when I'm with baby. And pump 3xs at work. Usually every 2-3hrs for 10 mins each time. I notice that if I go past 10 mins, I'll have a 2nd letdown and that can cause oversupply. Also, it wont always be the same because baby has growth spurts and may drink more than the norm. Your body will adjust to what baby wants. So my best advice is to nurse on demand and pump within reasonable duration and frequency. I def would not stop pumping. Maybe lessen the time on pump.
My feed schedule is nurse on demand. Usually she wakes at 2a and 6a. Bedtime is 9-10p and wake 9-10p. I work 11a-8p. So I pump at 1230p, come home and nurse during lunch at 3p, and pump at 6p.
