Other boards' babies!

I can't stop looking at the birth announcements on the October and November boards. Most of them are adorable, but the 10-pounders scare the living daylights out of me. Of course they are cute, but that is a whole lotta baby on day 1. I can't wait to meet LO!

    I keep looking at them too, but mostly to see what the birth stories are like. They sure do run the gamut! The babies are adorable and are good motivation to get through the the next couple months.

    I was a 10lb baby and my mother had me completely unmedicated and swears I was the easiest to deliver because of "gravity", lol.

    I also lurk on the announcement threads! It's still unbelievable to think that at the end of this journey is an adorable little baby. The terrible symptoms are 150% worth it. I'm so excited!! Time is going by way too fast.

    Yes to all of this. Glad I am not the only one! :) I keep looking for people with a EDD of the 26th and seeing if they were late or not (not that it would have anything to do whether I would deliver on my EDD or a week late). Just fun seeing what some of the Birth Dates are and also reading birth stories.

    My last babe was 10lbs 10oz home birth. Have to say,maybe because it was my 4th, he was my easiest to deliver. Hard to believe I only have 8 weeks to go with this one!

    Yup, I've been lurking to see how many babies are born early vs late -- as if that somehow can tell me when my lil guy will be born, haha. I've also enjoyed lurking on the summer boards to get an idea of what to expect with sleep schedule, breast feeding, etc. Lots of great discussions and ideas! Especially for this Type A, control freak FTM.

    @laura6006 don't be scuuured lol! My son was 9lbs15oz and once he was ready came out with no problems. I also had no idea he was going to be such a butterball so the fear factor wasn't there. And that's why they make epidurals ;-)

    @maiatene I expect a bigger baby, it just runs in my family because we are tall. I am contemplating writing a birth plan mostly so I can say that I don't want anyone to tell me how big they think the baby is--because you know ignorance is bliss!

    I don't need to lurk...my neighbor just had her baby last weekend 6 days late, and a childhood friend had hers yesterday a full month early. That second one really kicked me into gear to realize it's time to get started on my baby to do list!

    @TomekiaB ain't that the truth lol! My doctor estimated he was about 7lbs but once the put him on the scale everyone in the room said whoa!!! Once I got to the recovery floor all the nurses had to see the baby and give me hi-fives hahaha

    Oh no. Large babies terrify me.

    Everyone is telling me my baby will be HUGE because my husband is 6'10. I'm like NO, he was a NORMAL SIZED BABY. The Biggening didn't happen until later!

    But we were both 8 lb babies, so uh, still not little.

    I get so excited seeing all of the babies in Nov 15! I look at their due dates and actual birthdates and daydream. It is weird to think that some of our babies could be here in 3 weeks or so!

    I'm 5'3" and DH is 6'1". I weighed more than he did at birth.

    I've been following the November board semi-regularly because I'm due 12/2 but had DD early and midwife is guessing I will likely come a little early with DD. It's been crazy. Every time I check out the group theres quite a few new birth announcements. Weird to think that'll be our group in just a few weeks!
