Trouble TTC

Newbie

Hello, I'm new here. I'm 30 years old, hubby is 39. We've been trying for a year. My cycles are usually pretty regular (28-30 days). I've been doing OPKs for 3 months, which show that I'm ovulating too early (CD 9-11). Had an appt with OB/GYN today. No referral to RE yet, but I will start Femara next cycle. Also having labs (thyroid, fsh, and prolactin) drawn on cd 3 next month. My husband is having a SA done this week. I'm super frustrated because I am a social worker for pregnant women and new moms, so that is all I see all day! Just looking for support!

Re: Newbie

  • I can't begin to imagine how frustrating it must be for you TTC with your career! I get annoyed and have to avoid certain people on FB because all they post are pregnancy-related things, so more power to you for being able to do your job every day. You are a stronger woman than I!
Is this your first round of testing? Good luck, hope you get your BFP soon.

Welcome! I'm a newbie to this board as well, but pretty regular on the TTGP board.  DH and I have been trying for 11 months and we just started cycle 12 :(  I'm a social worker too! I work in a jail and its hard to deal with pregnant inmates who are abusing drugs or don't want their baby.  I can completely understand your frustration!!  Your job would be very hard so kudos to you.

  • Welcome and good luck to you!

I am also in the social worker field, at a residential rehab where we have clients come live with us who are pregnant. Your job would be tough! It would be hard to see and work with them on a daily basis. My office is at the men's center so I don't see the women on the daily.

TTC for Baby #1 for 3 years. After 2 failed IUI's & IVFs, God blessed us with our miracle :).  FET 12/17/15 (transferred 2 embryos at 5days). First Beta 12/29/15 = 354. Second Beta 12/31/15 = 694. Third Beta 1/7/16 = 6,695.  Finally heard his heartbeat (126)  on 1/14/16 @ our 1st US.  2nd US on 1/21/16, HR was 159.  The most beautiful sound ever :)
  • I feel ya! I'm a teacher, and there are three pregnant teens currently. Best of luck to you are you move through the process.
