I'm due on Nov. 4 and my husband's appointment for his vasectomy is on Oct. 30. He only has 5 days vacation left and because we have a high deductible we don't want to wait til next year to have his vasectomy done. We're thinking of talking to my doctor about inducing labor on Nov. 2 (if I don't give birth before that) so my husband doesn't have to schedule an emergency vacation or get a point for leaving work early if I go into labor while he's at work. I read that there's a high chance of c-section with labor induction. Can moms who had labor induction share their experience so we can think more about this before talking to our doctor? Thanks!
Re: Induction
The way they explained how inductions lead to C-sections helped make sense of everything for me. I've seen a lot of cases on this BMB of inductions that didn't lead to c-sections though. I'm a FTM in the fact that this will be my first baby to bring home, but I had a loss at 38 weeks where I had to be induced. It was a successful vaginal induction. I had pitocin and an epidural, which are the two things that are often blamed for inductions leading to c-sections.
You know your family's situation though, but either way this is a discussion for you, your hubs, and your doctor.
