Anyone else NOT hungry?

I felt I like I ate more before being pregnant! I'm average size and used to work out a lot...I've kicked it down a notch because obviously we all know about the naseau, but now I barely have an appetite at all?

  • I know I definitely was a lot more hungry before I was pregnant. And yes I barely have an appetite. I find myself being able to actually skip breakfast now when before I couldn't do without. I'm 13w and I still get the nausea and the heartburn is bonkers. Everything checked out and baby is still on track so I'm not worried. Who knows maybe I can slim down in some areas where I have an excess such as my butt? lol I'm hoping not to gain so much weight this time around like last time. Last time I gained about 50-60 pounds and haven't lost it. >.<

  • I forget to eat. I lost 11 lbs the first trimester. So we will see as the weeks go on.

  • If I don't eat I get crazy heartburn, but when I do eat (still like 7 times a day) I have like 4 bites and I'm full... I would really love to eat more, but that makes me sick... ohhhh pregnancy  >:D<
  • Your body is probably just adjusting to the change in activity level and nutrition needs during pregnancy. I definitely don't eat more than I did pre-preg and I don't crave anything. It's important to eat though; breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Ok good! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm not craving anything either and sometimes I forget I'm even pregnant and then the nausea kicks in and reminds me. I haven't gained anything, but I haven't lost either so I guess that's good? 12 1/2 weeks right now. Trying to eat a bunch of small meals, but like one of you mentioned, 4 bites and I'm full! I feel like I'm wasting a lot of food lol.

  • I definitely used to eat a lot more before pregnancy. I mean I could eat a full plate of food, but now I have to take my time, and in a few bites i'm already full. It doesn't help that not much of anything stays down so...
  • Yes, it happened to me last pregnancy too.  I was pretty hungry for a while then it went away.  It's happening again.  I account it to everything inside is shifting and my stomach doesn't have as much room (which is probably untrue).
  • My appetite shifts through the day.  I'm hungry in the morning but can barely stomach anything at night.  Blech.
  • In the first few weeks, I was ravenous! But that went away when m/s hit. Now I'm feeling better but have no appetite. I get hungry but nothing really sounds good, and if I get too hungry I get sick. I miss craving certain foods. And I love to cook and eat and try just about anything. I also can't eat as much in one sitting as I could before pregnancy, which is frustrating because I don't stay full as long and have to eat again after about 2 hours. Eating is certainly not as enjoyable as it used to be! Blah!
  • I read your comment and i felt like this is what i was going to reply! I used to love green veggies like zucchini and asparagus spinach and other veggies. No i can hardly look at them. Its so difficult because i know i need them now more than ever! I feel like i take about 3 or 4 bits of any snack or meal and im full. 2 to 3 hours later im starving and starting to feel nauseated. Nothing sounds good. I havent gained any weight either which makes me a little nervous. Dr hasn't said anything about it as i was about 15 to 20 lbs over weight before pregnancy. I fear it's because im not eating as much.
