Cramps and ovary pain?

Hello everyone, l've been quite stressed the past couple days and am hoping to find some assurance that I'm not alone! My past two pregnancies have ended somewhere in the 5 week mark and I felt fine until the bleeding and cramps started. As of today I'm approximently 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I have been having medium pain level lower tummy cramps and ovary pain/spasms for two days. I constantly keep checking to see if there is blood because it feels so much like a period. One thing I've noticed, which I'm not sure if it relates, is the last two pregnancies my tests were very light lines and never became darker even at almost 6 weeks but when I took a test two days ago I immediately had a super dark line so I'm hoping baby is okay and the pains are normal and not going to result in another loss! Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Cramps and ovary pain?

  • I'm 4w3d too and had cramping for a good week straight after my BFP. Doctor said it was normal, just the uterus making adjustments for its new visitor. If the pain is really bad and is only on one side of your lower belly, there is a possibility that the pregnancy is ectopic and the pain you feel is actually your fallopian tubes stretching.

As to the previous pregnancies, I would think they were chemical if they never really ramped up HCG well. The fact that this one is showing a strong line is a good sign as of now (IMO, not a doctor).

  • I had pretty severe cramping with my first son. Bad enough to curl up in a ball, felt like horrible menstrual cramps. And it was fine!

  • It's always scary to have pain, but you most likely have nothing to worry about. If you don't have bleeding, then it's probably just your uterus making room for baby. FX for a sticky baby!

  • Yes - cramping is super normal.  Basically all the symptoms for AF are the same for baby at this time.  Sending you good thoughts for this one!

  • I'm 7 weeks&2 days and I've had cramping here and there everyday for the past few weeks. I read about it and found out that cramping is normal as long as there is no bleeding. First sign of blood you'll wanna go straight to the Dr.
  • Same boat here. Cramping on and off. A lot of it at beginning of week 3. Now it's not all the time but when I I do feel it, it's intense. Not in a way to trouble me, but definitely concentrated and shooting pain.
No bleeding so far so I'm not worried. As others have said.

  • I have also had cramping and feel as if I am going to the bathroom more often than needed just to see if there's blood when I go.  From what I've heard/read, cramping is normal as long as there is not a lot of bleeding.
  • Currently cramping for at least a week now
  • 6w 1d prego, and i am still cramping off and on.
