Football fanatic and pregnancy

So while watching football today, I had a thought that I might have to give it up for the health of my unborn child. I absolutely love sports, and I get heavily invested in teams and players that I like. I have never checked my blood pressure during a game, but I am pretty sure that it spikes...especially today while watching my Panthers. Are there any other sports fans? What do you do to stay calm during the games?

I love sports, but haven't had this problem yet . I'm a Dolphins fan. I'm used to heartbreak. Crossing my fingers that this new coach turns things around for us. I don't really get worked up during games, but ohhh how I miss the beer!

To stay calm... I had a 2 year old wallowing in me so I didn't give the game my full attention, maybe try to watch the game and do another task so your mind isn't solely on Luke Keukly beating that ass!

Hahahah...good idea. I'm in a hotel on a business trip, so the game had my undivided attention. Next time, I'll try to stay distracted.

I'm also a Pats fan. Not too impressed tonight.

DH is a Bills fan so his reactions during their games also get my blood pressure rising. Poor guy, lol.

I'm a Chargers fan and I do stress out over the games too, but don't think it's a huge deal for the baby. Although if they leave SD Idk what I will do

Baseball is my sport of choice. Life long die hard Jays fan. I'm a wreck on a daily basis right now during playoffs. I have no advice on how to keep calm but if you find something that works let me know. Usually a pint calms me down but unfortunately that's not gonna work for me right now dammit

Lions fan here. That was a great game yesterday.

I'm also a MSU Spartan and was jumping for joy with excitement after that game they had on Saturday. That was crazy!!

Lots of high blood pressure for the state of michigan yesterday! Sadly, I'm a UM fan, so that was a tough loss! But at least the Lions pulled through, finally.

Woohoo another Panthers fan here!! Don't give up watching! I've gone to some football games while pregnant and jumped up and down and shouted. No issues with the boys! DS1 is a big fan already at 3, maybe he became addicted while I was pregnant with him. His first Virginia Tech game was at 16 days old.

It's happy but still. My heart was racing at the end of the game yesterday. The D had to make a play in the last seconds to avoid overtime. Talk about anxiety.

Browns fan here. Our seasons are always disappointing. But I am also an Ohio State fan and those games can be stressful.

@missbianca84 when I was pregnant with my daughter we were living in Columbus Ohio and had season tickets to the Buckeye games and I went to every game that season while I was pregnant. You will be fine to go.

@FutureMrsCAF it was a rough game and we only got to watch the overtime. We don't live in Ohio anymore so it is hard to be able to watch the games, but we get really excited when we get to watch bits of them.

Before we started TTC about a year ago when the Cubs started to get good, I told H we would have to be sure we times our pregnancies to not coincide with a Cubs playoff run. And here we are. I'm 4 weeks and the Cubs are 2 games down in the NLCS!

I'm hoping that the rise in my blood pressure isn't stressing my little poppyseed.

I'm a huge football fan myself; go Giants!!! Watching them right now and not happy. Definitely doing some major yelling at the tv. Between my husband (panthers fan) and I, our baby will probably have their first memory be something football related.

I had the same thought about watching football. My heart rate went up and I was so made during one game. I feel like this might not be healthy during pregnancy. Maybe a season break from football for me
