Are you diaper stockpiling?

Jet.com has 20% off your first purchase or $15 promo. Surprise20 and 15bucksnow.
We just bought 632 (2 boxes of 276 Huggies and 2 40ct Seventh Generation) diapers for $48. That comes out to $.07 per diaper.

Who all else is stockpiling? And what great deals have you gotten recently?

We're cloth diapering so I've been stocking up on those, but we also decided to go with Honest diapers during the newborn days - rather than trying to find a good cloth that will a) fit a tiny newborn bum and b) won't have us running the washer every hour.

We did the diaper bundle from Honest (which is 35% off) and when we signed up we got a 30% off coupon.  So we got 320 newborn diapers, 4 packages of 72 ct. wipes, and 4 travel packs of 10 ct wipes for $59!  That is the BEST deal we've found for a more environmentally friendly diaper - if there is such a thing.  The 68 pack of Honest diapers at Target was around $25 so we made out like BANDITS!

Link if anyone is interested: https://www.honest.com/refer_to/891852 (Yes, this is a referral link ;) )

And YES @satindawl83 - our daughter had a reaction to some brands of diapers and her bum and waist would break out in a rash.  We have 3 kids and she was the first one we experienced that with, but it does happen!
  • I was planning on stockpiling until I heard that some babies are allergic to some brands of diapers. I read it's best to get a variety and then stockpile once you've had a chance to test them out.

I'd be especially careful about buying online since you may need to pay to return them if you do stockpile.

I'm a FTM, so this could be bogus advice, but just thought I'd share!

I did take that into consideration actually and a lot of places you'd generally buy diapers from let you return/exchange them even without a receipt (I know Walmart and Target are good about that at least)
And if all else fails I will eat it and donate whatever to a women and childrens shelter.

I haven't really bought from online anywhere else but Jet.com does have free returns.

That is a really great deal for Honest. Holy cow.
  • I don't know if you ladies have had your baby shower, but we did a diaper/wipes raffle for both of mine. Whoever brought either got a raffle ticket and whoevers ticket got drawn won a nice prize. We have so many diapers and wipes I feel so thankful we don't have to run out to the store for any. Like mentioned before a lot of places will let you return diapers as long as box or package isn't opened too
  • We have a box of each size(nb and size above) and will buy some depending on her size... And if we like them. No stock.
  • We have a decent pile of Huggies and pampers going. My son had a scrawny waist and the newborn Huggies didn't fit him without leaking. Eventually once he's holder and bigger and we know how his skin reacts I'll switch to Kirkland brand from Costco.

No kidding!  The packs of wipes alone are about $5 each and we got 4 of them AND 8 packages of diapers.  Even without the 30% off it's a pretty good steal!  It's regularly $79 for the bundle from the Honest website, which is still WAY cheaper than Target!

  • I've been stockpiling diapers from CVS with coupons and the extra bucks. I have got everything for 50% off or less!!! This week I got four packs of the cvs brand for $15 total. And I'm going back to do it again on my husbands card ;) this is my stockpile before adding the ones I got from my shower yesterday.
  • We are cloth diapering but for the first few weeks we will use honest company.
May daughter had reactions to a few different brands so no stock piling here. Plus you never know how each brand will fit your baby's shape. Some just work better for each individual kid than others.

I actually haven't bought anything yet! I just told
My husband we might want to get some wipes at least!

My daughter went right into size ones so I'm waiting to see how big this one will be.
I'll probably buy a pack of NB and a pack of size 1 from honest company and go from there. I don't mind sending my mom or husband to the store the day we get home from the hospital. Plus going to target by myself in the early days was like a vacation so I won't mind escaping the house to buy what I need.

I would suggest you probably start stocking up on the next couple of sizes.  Your baby may not be in NB very long (if at all.)  You may also want to try a few different brands.  Baby skin can be finicky and diapers are just like jeans, some shapes fit some brands better.

Oh definitely! These are various sizes of newborn, 1s, 2s, and 3s.

  • We've been stock piling since 8 weeks because I have a very crazy DH! He just calls himself "prepared." We have all brands, all sizes, and have purchased them from returnable places. We've bought pampers the most since that is what a lot of our family/friends have been most impressed with.
