Anything by Sandra Boynton! Love her board books. Also anything with texture is fun for the first year as they get to "participate" before they understand the stories, especially the "That's not my —" ones.
Anything Sandra boynton or those small board books (his favorites are red hat green hat, piggy paints, and barnyard dance). Lift the flap books are great. Very hungry caterpillar Go dog go Chicka chicka boom boom
First BFP 12/2012, MMC at 9 weeks
Second BFP 6/2013, resulted in DS, born 2/23/14 :-)
Third BFP 5/2015, natural MC at 6 weeks
Fourth BFP 8/2015, hoping for sticky little brother or sister to H!
Proud SAHM to our little monkey H.
Pro Vax, extended breasftfeeder, ring sling and stroller loving mama. I don't judge you unless you don't vaccinate!
DD is a little older now so I'm having a harder time remembering anything she "reacted to as a LO" we mostly just read books, didn't really matter what they were. The only ones I really remember her specifically liking were:
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
The Belly Button
Now that she's older she just loves books, my favorite to read her is Rosie Revere Engineer. We get a lot from the library and go through 3-10 books a day.
My absolute favorites from my childhood are Slinky Malinki & Slinky Malinki Open the Door by Lynley Dodd. DS loves them too and can practically read them to me himself now.
We've also loved over the years.. The Giving Tree I'll Love You Forever Little Blue Truck Wacky Wednesday (and many other Seuss-esque books for that matter!) Put Me In The Zoo (another childhood fave of mine) Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Goodnight Moon (and Goodnight Goon for Halloween!)
Nowadays we're also loving Pete the Cat books.
Get them started early and instill a love of reading in your babies and you'll never regret it! DS is ahead for reading right now and I think a lot of it has to do with early and often exposure to books. His mom's a bit of a bookworm.
My boys and I love "I'll love you forever" and "On the night you were born". I also love Happy Birthday by Dr. Seuss, it's fun to read on their birthdays :-)
My guys are big fans of any Llama Llama book, If I built a car, the velveteen rabbit, and Ferdinand.
If your area offers Dolly's Parton's imagination library, I would definitely size the baby up for it. Free books delivered monthly until they turn 5. Some of our favorite books came this way and we had never heard of them before they arrived.

That's amazing but not available in my area. Womp womp
DD loves a lot of the books people have already mentioned, but I'll add Click clack moo, the complete Beatrix potter, and the gingerbread man goes to school
I am also obsessed with building my DDs library. Some of her favorites are Brown Brown Bear, Madeline, Going on A Bear Hunt, Lift the flap books., Pat the Bunny, the Bunny Rabbit Show (Boyton), Monster at the end of this Book. We have loads more that others have mentioned but it's hard for her sit through the longer books.
My son is obsessed with the Llama Llama books and the Pigeon books.
Llama Llama makes board books for babies/younger toddlers, and then there are longer books for when they get older. They're the best ever. Like go ahead and order the board book set from Amazon right now :-D

I'm intrigued by these pigeon books. Do they portray pigeons in a negative way though?
My daughter's favorites have been: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Brown Bear, Brown Bear All of the Llama Llama books Mo Wilems various pigeon books The Day the Crayons Quit And the big time fave is Dragons Love Tacos
At first I'm going to read them classics like War and Peace. When they actually learn English I'll read them Dr Seuss or something.
DD's first book was the Hobbit because that's what I was reading. She's also now heard HP 4-7 and the Magician's Nephew (Narnia #1) on audiobook in the car.

@roseshadow873 haha it's just about one pigeon who wants what he can't have. Like he wants to drive the bus, he wants to stay up late, etc. And he begs to be allowed to do whatever it is, and my son gets really into it "NO PIGEON! NO!" It's cute.
First off, I highly recommend The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease. It's really great and has a lot of good ideas for building literacy in babies and children and getting them interested in books. Honestly, I think it's right up there with "Happiest Baby.."
For board books we love:
Everything by Sandra Boynton
Goodnight Moon
Peek-a-Who?
Everything by Eric Carle
Everything by Leslie Patricelli
Everything by Dr. Seuss
All the board books by the DK company are great. They have touch-and-feel animal books, trucks, colors, numbers, etc.
Picture books:
Knuffle Bunny (plus anything else by Mo Willems)
Anything by Rosemary Wells
Anything by Byron Barton (esp. if you have a boy!)

Also, I bought my baby his first book the other day..."Goodnight, Darth Vader"
She also has really liked some Dr. Seuss books, specifically Hop on Pop, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, and There's a Wocket in My Pocket.
