  Hcg levels aren't an indicator of how many babies you're carrying. The only way to know if you're having twins, is if an ultrasound shows two babies. Good luck op.

  Unfortunately, if you do have two and one doesn't make it, there is nothing you can do.
  And hcg numbers are not a good indicator of multiples, as PP mentioned. You're just going to have to wait it out until your next u/s, good luck.

  I know, vanishing twin syndrome is scary to think about! At 7 weeks they saw thriving twins - hard to wait a month to see if that's still the case! GL to you -

  I too had my first u/s today at 5w1d and saw 2 sacks! I'm overwhelmed and super excited. Trying not to start thinking too much of the reality of twins, because the dr warned is that we have 25% chance of losing one.
