Just curious how you all deal with the constant time off work. Did you tell your employer? Have you gotten in trouble for excessive time off?
I started a new job about 3.5 months ago. It was something that fell into my lap that I had to make a quick decision about. I struggled big time with whether or not we should put off ttc for awhile or keep up with the RE appointments (after 4.5 years, we finally put on our grown up pants and started going). Now I feel guilty for asking off work so much, especially when I'm not able to give them much warning since it depends on when AF shows up. But I don't feel like I can explain it to them without them thinking "what the heck, you just started" (not to mention it's really none of their business).
This evening, AF decided to show up. Problem is, I was going to start Clomid this cycle so unless I can get in tomorrow for the ultrasound, it looks like I'm SOL for this month. Just thinking about going in tomorrow and asking for half the day off has me feeling guilty.
I'd rather not choose between my job and ttc but I'm almost 30 and who knows how much longer I'll have to ride this BSC infertility train.
How do you gals manage?

Re: Time off work
***previous pregnancy/loss mentioned****
I work in a science research lab so when I got pregnant I had to inform my co-workers to avoid unsafe activities and that meant having to tell everyone again when I miscarried both times. My boss just told me to take as much time as I needed after my D&Cs, and even with my follow up appointments for each of those surgery and the appointments for the surgery I have coming up its just not a problem
***End mention***
I'm not sure what kind of work you do but Is it possible to make the hours up? That's probably why it's not a huge deal for my boss - all my work still gets done just not always in the typical 9-5 work day.
I know you said it's none of their business (and you are right it's not) but do you think telling them is an option? They might surprise you and be very supportive. Is it possible the guilt you feel is something you are putting on yourself or has your boss been a jerk in other ways so you know they would not be supportive?

They've been really great and have enabled me to go to all of my appointments so far. It's a really difficult one because you want to keep your guard up and not share it with the world but I'm so glad that the family I work for know as it has made the appointments easier knowing that they know I'm not just booking appointments for whenever I fancy them!
Hope you find something that works for you! x
