May 2016 Moms

Ugh. I already feel fat.

Hello ladies I'm almost 10 weeks. Are most of you already showing or have a slight bump already?!? I feel like I look massive. I am about 5'0" and weighed about 116 before I got pregnant. Any thoughts?!?/

  • Only 8w5d & yes feeling fat
  • 10 weeks tomorrow and yes, feeling like a puffy marshmellow lol.
  • Yeah and it's so bad at night!! I'm not eating great but to horrendously I feel like a whale already
  • As of Thursday I offically have a few pairs of pants I can no longer zipper. Going maternity clothes shopping tomorrow.
  • Definitely in the same boat! I'm going on 11 weeks (tomorrow) and while I haven't gained any weight yet, I'm definitely sticking out much further. I had to switch to maternity clothes two weeks ago as my pants were incredibly uncomfortable on my tummy.
  • I don't have bloating issues and I think it's because I eat oatmeal every morning. I eat steel-cut oats with almonds and blueberries every morning. I get my fiber. I'm not trying to be like "look at me!" but I'm *** TMI Warning ***  regular when it comes to the bowel movements and I don't have much bloating. You could try it for a week and see if the softness goes away.

  • Oh my I'm the same way......I feel absolutely normal in the am but throughout the day get huge!!! I am having horrible bloating and we'll not much action in the bathroom ugghhh! I'm 10w4d and already had to buy maternity clothes and up two cup sizes. I'm scared to get on the scales!! Lol love bring preggers though :)
  • Yep, feeling nice and plump recently. Switched over to my maternity wardrobe at 8 weeks. No shame in spandex!
  • I look bloated and gross even though I haven't gained any weight. All my pants do up but, if I eat anything, I start to inflate as the day goes on. I don't look pregnant, I just look puffy and awkward. I feel uncomfortable as well.

I eat a very healthy diet, but some people just have sensitive digestive systems. My period always caused me quite a bit of digestive stress and I can definitely feel progesterone's effect on my body right now as well.

Here's to hoping we all get out of this awkward stage soon.
  • Gone are the days I can wear my rompers. I put one on Saturday and i was so lumpy underneath it was terrible. No real bump for me at 10.5 weeks but lots of lumps and bloat.
  • Also 10 weeks and I feel huge! I'm
5'4 and weighed about 135 when I got pregnant. Have only gained a few pounds but I think I'm carrying water weight awfully! I always do with my periods so I figured it would be the same with pregnancy. I've felt super bloated since week 5 (couldn't zip some pants before I had even gained any weight!)
  • I recently started taking my prenatal a after I go the bathroom. It was bad for a while but I think it's mostly bloat at this point for me.

  • I feel.. kinda yucky. I weighed about 98 lbs when I found out I was pregnant (at 5'5", yeah, too thin...) I'm sure I've gained about 15 lbs. This is the heaviest I've ever been in my life. So far most of my pants still fit at 12 weeks along. Weird.

  • I look like I've gained 20 pounds and it's about 4. I'm tall and average build but never a rock hard middle. Now it just looks like a gut. Mix that with exhaustion and I look like a fat unkempt woman. ----sorry it's been a long weekend working and I'm having some confidence issues.

This. I've always been average height and lean/average build. And now I feel messy and fat. My fiancé says I just look pregnant since the rest of my body doesn't match my stomach.
  • I feel fat all over! Face, arms, stomach, legs... All of it! I'm 5'6" and typically wear a size 4 to 6... I officially can't button any of my jeans! I haven't put any actual weight on but I feel huge already! Bloated all the time! I'm 9 weeks 6 days pregnant now and seriously just feel like a giant marshmallow!
  • 11 weeks and solidly in the "bloat, blugh" club. I've gained about 4-5 pounds (maybe? I'm not sure how much of this is water weight, bloating, or... whatever else it could be at this stage) and it is not a baby bulge but it is definitely a bulge.

I have a history of disordered eating so it's been a little rough trying to make myself accept these changes. Some days are better than others.
  • 11 weeks here and already gained 7 lbs and wearing maternity clothes. I feel very fat. And also hungry. All the time.
  • Hey you too. Im I'm 4'll and you can see my baby bump already n im 9weeks and was weighing 1115. I already need new jeans or something.

I feel the same way.  At week 11, I saw a sudden belly growth when there was none the previous week, but weight was the same. Now at week 12, belly is larger and I've only gained 1-2 lb.  I'm 5'3 and was 111 lb pre-pregnancy.  Must be all bloat, but still, wearing pants is difficult and sometimes even sitting down is uncomfortable.  Wonder when I will start looking pregnant vs. looking like I ate too much.
