Bloody urine UPDATE

I got out of bed and leaked something - I assumed urine. I went into the bathroom and the liquid is bloody. There is no mucous, just bloody liquid. I texted my doctor and she said it's probably just my mucous plug. I'm not leaking any more of it, but my sister in law had a small rupture that re-sealed itself, so she never leaked, but still had to be induced to prevent infection. Is there anyone with experience with this? Bloody urine? My water has only ever been broken by my doctor during labor. This is baby #5 and I live 45 minutes from the hospital, so things have the potential to go quick. My plan is to just trust my doctor and see what happens, but wondered if anyone has experienced this.

UPDATE:Evidently I had a double layer placenta and the outer layer ruptured, but not the other one. Baby girl was born at 4:51 a.m. today.

Rule out a uti

I'm fairly positive it's not a UTI. I'm assuming my doctor is correct and it's just dilating and mucous plug. I haven't had any more leakage, but have had more blood when I wipe and on a pad. Thank you for your response.

My OB advised to go to the hosp. if blood is present.
If they send u home you can rest knowing that everything is ok.

Evidently I had a double layer placenta and the outer layer ruptured, but not the other one. Baby girl was born at 4:51 a.m. today.
