Wanted to see how laxed everyone is with meds? I have to take benadryl a few times a week. And if I have a headache, I take tylenol. I don't feel bad about it. Both fine with my doc. However, its other people that make me feel paranoid/bad mom about taking anything. It would be great to be 100% "natural" but its just not in the cards for me. Also Im tired of feeling guilty for having a cup of coffee every morn. Ok end of rant.

I've also taken pepcid 2-3 times a week and tums galore.
After my surgery I was on dilaudid and oxy which helped with the pain a million times over, nothing bad happened, in fact the opposite. Because I wasn't constantly in pain I was able to better nourish her and my baby grew much bigger and is ahead of her schedule.
I also have severe anxiety and taking Zoloft, which I am not afraid of sharing either. The benefits for me severely outweigh any risks and you are weened off before delivery. That prevents the baby from having mood swings, which is really the only side effect. Without going into too much detail, my perinatal depression was so bad because of fear and anxiety that I would have dreams of killing myself and the baby. Yeah, medicate me man cause I can't take that shit. My brain is way clearer.
So anyways, if this baby is growing perfectly healthy inside me with all these past medications, I think it's fine: really the scary thing is the lack of research because no one want to volunteer their child for studies with unknown consequences.
Ultimately every mom is right. You are okay with meds? You're right. You're against them? You're right. The only time a mother is wrong is when she forces her opinions or judges someone else. It's a preference call and it's your baby, so no matter what, YOU will be right.
