I'm a teacher, and it seems like every kid in the building has been sick lately. Well it finally hit me too, right as nausea was starting to ease up. Now I'm struggling with all day runny nose, headaches, dry throat and sinus pressure. Anyone got any good, safe remedies? All I've got right now is my humidifier and drinking lots of water. I'm unsure about hot teas too, since all we have is herbals or black. I'm miserable!
Re: Cold season
For the throat, gargling a heated mixture of 1/3 apple cider vinegar and 2/3 water with a bit of honey or Karo syrup helps a lot. 1 minute in the microwave should make it a good temperature. You can drink it too if you can stand the vinegar taste.
I'm a teacher as well and have found that I get significantly fewer colds when I make a habit of showering and changing my clothes when I get home.
Hope you feel better soon!
