3rd time (+) moms compare your pregnancies

I know there are several women here who are on their third (or more) child, I'm just curious how you compare your previous pregnancies and what their sexes were? So far my symptoms are so similar to my first I'm thinking it's another girl, but of course it may not mean anything, and maybe it just means that's how my body does pregnancy. I know my mom says her pregnancies with her two boys were the same but the one with me was so different she knew I was a girl. Just curious how much can MAYBE be related to sex, or if it's just all purely coincidental. And obviously just for fun :)

  • Not a third time mom but I don't understand why people think same pregnancy equals same sex and vice Versa. My mom had opposite pregnancies and two girls. Like opposite in every way possible. She was tiny with me and all belly, but got fat all around with my sister. She threw up every day until 20 weeks with me and wasn't sick with my sister. She had a super long labor with me but got me out in one push, and had a super fast labor with my sister but a really hard time pushing.

Sure enough, my sister and I are completely opposite. We have the same eyes and that's literally about it. I don't think sex has anything to do with pregnancy symptoms.

  • My first two were girls and I got sick with them. I believe my hormones were ragey and I ate a lot. I ate sugar everything just about and surprisingly I did not get gestational diabetes or any other complications. My second child, I drank a lot of orange juice, I slept a lot and I had lots of RLP. This time around, I am a wet mop. I'm crying a lot, lots of RLP and the exhaustion is finally starting to improve. I'm not really craving a lot of things, but I do favor more of a sour / tangy or salty flavors like pickles and chips, vinegar, tomatoes

  • Exactly! I don't necessarily think so either, I'm just interested to hear how they all compare. I wanted to hear stories of complete opposites too in order to help prove that myth wrong. It's just fun to see how each one turns out. Thanks for sharing!
  • I am on my third and don't know the sex of this baby yet. My first two were both girls but pregnancies were quite different. I had almost no morning sickness with my first (never threw up). And had lots of vomiting with my second which lasted until about 11ish weeks. This time my morning sickness has been really bad and still going at 14+ weeks. I'm also much more emotional this time. Also didn't have cravings with my first two, while I'm having lots of cravings this time.

So each of mine have been different in one way or another. It's kind of fun to compare. Really anxious to find out what we're having this time!
  • My other 3 pregnancies were exactly the same: no morning sickness, intense fatigue, cravings, etc. and they were all boys. I think this one is a boy too, but not necessarily just because the pregnancies are the same, I just feel like it is.

My SIL has had 5 very similar pregnancies and she has 3 girls and 2 boys.

  • This is baby #3 for me, and we don't know the sex yet, although my husband is convinced it's another girl based on heart rate 8-|

My first two are girls, and the pregnancies had some similarities and some differences:

Threw up a lot with DD1, but nausea was mostly contained to the am, and ended a few weeks into 2nd Tri.  With DD2 I didn't throw up as much, but had wicked all day nausea that lasted until the END of 2nd tri :(  With DD1 I felt pretty good after the m/s ended, right up until the very end, despite being diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  I had no swelling or general aches and pains.  With DD2 I never had GD, but started having a ton of aches and pains right around 20 weeks.  I was pretty miserable for the rest of pregnancy.  I also had a ton of swelling in my feet at the end, which was super uncomfortable.  Also, DD2's position ended up being breech, and she wedged her head under my ribs, which was not fun at all.

This time I've had a fair amount of all day nausea, but it seems to be tapering off a bit now that I'm near 13 weeks.  Hopefully that trend continues.  Can't wait to find out what we're having!

  • 4th here, pregnancies have been pretty much the same each time, sicker than a dog, just different symptoms of sickness. First two were pretty much the same, vomiting and nausea, one was a boy, one was a girl. Third was worse then the other two, even more nausea and vomiting, it was a boy. This one, lots of nausea, not much vomiting, TONS of headaches, it's a boy as well. Symptoms don't hint at the sex of the baby.

  • My first two pregnancies were pretty easy and both boys. This time around I have been sick all day every day...even now at 16 weeks... I don't know what I'm having yet but yes I hope it's a girl! :)
  • Food prep/clean up aversion during first tri and raging hormones with DS. Neither with my girls. I've got the rage right now, so I'm thinking boy this time around.

  • 5th pregnancy here, but since my first one was twins who developed twin/twin transfusion, I am going to not compare it as it was a whole different beast.

I have been pregnant so far with only boys (5 of them including the twins). My pregnancies with DS1 and DS2 were identical until the end. I had zero morning sickness, little tiredness and felt great my entire pregnancy. My pregnant coworkers hated me lol. The only difference in the pregnancies was that DS2 was born at just shy of 36 weeks and DS1 went full term to 38w4d.

DS3's pregnancy was completely opposite, everyone swore I was having a girl. I was sick all day every day from about the time I peed on the stick. I was exhausted and miserable most of the pregnancy. I couldn't eat anything except cereal and pasta. We were team green with him and people were shocked when he was a boy (I had a feeling the whole time).

This pregnancy is just like DS3, bummer. And again everyone assumes girl since I feel so horrible, they obviously forgot how I felt 18 months ago. I have no feelings yet as to the sex but did accidentally conceive on 4-5 day old sperm so we shall see if the shettles method holds true lol. I'm not holding my breath.

  • @littleredx2 ... 5 boys here too... including twins. And every pregnanCy has been different
I will say my easiest pregnancy was my twins and they were my hardest babies... maybe this baby will be a breeze since he's making it so hard on me now :)
  • This is number 4 for me. I'm only 13 weeks right now with this baby. So far things have been the same as they have been with the others. The only difference is I'm having skin issues. I can't seem to control break outs which is frustrating. This is the first one I've had the issues with. One difference is the deliveries. They have been faster with each one. I'm hoping this one is fast too
