Help w/ warming up LO's bed

What tips or tricks do you guys do to warm up their bed in the middle of the night so that when you lay them back down it's not ice cold and it doesn't jolt them awake? We live in a big farmhouse in Iowa and it is getting colder here and it's really cold in the bedroom and I notice she sleeps a lot better when it's colder in the room. But when I lay her down in the middle of the night back into her bed and it is so cold I feel like that always jolts her back up. My issue is what can I do repeatedly in the middle of the night for every feeding to make it so it's warm for her in the bed? I do have a hot pack that you can heat up in the microwave for about two minutes but I really don't want to have to go down into the kitchen and heat that up every single time, is there something that lasts A little bit longer throughout the night or that is easy to do?

Re: Help w/ warming up LO's bed

  • Maybe get a warm blanket and put it on the bed while your feeding her, to keep the spot from getting all the cold air, then move it before you put her back in bed??
Or lay a heating pad on it, just while you feed her to get the spot warm?
I'm not sure, I'll have this problem as it gets cooler, so I'm interested in other ideas!

I have a heating pad next to bassinet. Whenever I get LO out, I turn pad on low and throw it in until I'm ready to put her back.
  • We use a heating pad too.
  • Flannel sheets help as well.
  • I kept a plug in heating pad next to the bassinet with DD1. I'd turn it on and flick it in when I picked her up.

  • I've been putting a flannel receiving blanket under the covers with me, then before I lay my LO down I take it out and put it in her rock n play. It's warm and it smells like me so it usually helps her fall back to sleep!
  • We put a thick knit blanket under his sheet in the crib and that seems to help us
  • I called my parents, they have an electric heating pad and they brought it right over - I just tried it in her pack n play bassinet (she NEVER sleeps in it because she always wants to be on an incline) - I put the heating pad in the bassinet and after changing/feeding laid her down in it and she went RIGHT TO SLEEP!!!!! She's still there sleeping!!! Dare I say this just solved the problem!? I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!!
