Ouch!!

So my DD2 decided she couldn't wait any longer and made her appearance last night (4 weeks early). I had to have a repeat c section. It took nearly 3 hours from first cut to last staple. My stomach muscles were all fused to my uterus. It was so bad that it made it a very tight squeeze to get baby out. 3 doctors pushing and pulling and vacuum assist. Baby is doing great but I feel like I was in a very bad car accident. I visible bruising on my abdomen and found out this morning that i have almost 50 stitches internally and 20 staples externally.
Anyone else go through a traumatic c section??

Hazel Quinn was totally worth it!

  • Oh my! I'm so sorry that happened to you! Was there any indication that might be a possibility? I'm heading in for a repeat c next week and didn't even know this was a potential complication! I'm sure you feel like you got ran over!
  • I was having some pain for pretty much my whole pregnancy. I was told the "oh it's just your muscles stretching or round ligament pain" reasons. This morning when my OB came in to check on me, she apologized. She said that after seeing how bad it was in there that she had no idea how I made it through the pregnancy and managed the pain.
It can happen but isn't common.
  • I'm not big into medicine, but load up! Sounds like you need it. I'm sorry for your traumatic experience, I pray you recover fast. Congratulations on your baby!
  • Congratulations on your little girl! Sorry to hear about your terrible csection experience. Wishing you a fast recovery.
