TGIF!!!!!

THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!

This week has just dragged on and on, I am so excited for the weekend and to sleep in with my SO. What are you ladies doing this weekend? Anything fun?

I love photography and I'm getting a new lens today so my sister and I are going to go have a little photo shoot to play with the lens. My fiancé and I are also doing some last minute shopping and getting ready for our wedding on Thursday, October 22nd!! I am beyond excited :)

Re: TGIF!!!!!

  • @Brunnettebabe722 Jealous! Getting a new lens is like Christmas. What are you getting?

Right?! I love getting new lenses and stuff, I'm such a techie nerd lol. Right now I have just a basic lens the Canon EF-S 55-250mm and I'm getting the Canon 50mm 1.4

Right now we're just getting married in a courthouse with immediate family, next year were having an actual wedding or technically a "vow renewal" but I'll be sure to if my mom is able to get any good shots!
  • @BrunetteBabe722 How does everyone feel about your courthouse wedding then the ceremony later on? That's what my SO want to do, minus having family there- we want it to be just us- and I'm still hoping I can convince him we should do it in Vegas. But we're a little worried people will be hurt and upset.
  • Sunday is our one year wedding anniversary and my H went a little nuts. He has a something planned each day of the weekend starting after work today and it is a total surprise. Idk if I should be excited or scared!

Oh there was plenty of drama. We originally wanted just our parents there and they were totally fine with that. Then other people in the family started to find out that we were getting married like my SO's aunt, but we both decided we still just wanted out parents there and my SO wouldn't tell his aunt no so that caused a bunch of drama and when she finally found out she was hurt and cried. Then a few days ago I was talking to my sister about it and she said she would love to go but isn't going to invite herself and respected our decision. So after talking about it for a while with my SO, we decided to have more people come. We have my parents and siblings, brother-in-law, niece, his parents and siblings, and his aunt and uncle coming. All these people are extremely close with us and we see all the time so I'm actually happy they're coming and can share this experience with us :)

And after a lot of arguing and crying about this, it's important for you and your SO to remember this day is about you two and no one else. It's not about making anyone else happy but you guys and I think that's the important thing that a lot of people can forget.

That's so exciting! Congrats and happy early anniversary!!
  • Congrats!!!! We had an October wedding, and I swear it is the most romantic month to get married. With the leaves changing and the fall chill in the air, it's hard not to feel anything but love and excitement about your future together. Don't forget to savor the moments leading up to the big day, it all happens so fast. Thanks for the happy Friday post. TGIF!!
  • This weekend... working Saturday and Sunday. A friend has questions about a storm door that Lowes did a lousy job of putting in so I get to go look at that. We really need to finalize the plans for our master bedroom/bathroom/closet re-do so that can get started if we want to have a fighting chance of finishing it before May. We'll probably "build" the bathroom and closet layout in another room with tape, chairs and boxes to try and get a feel for the space and see if it works. We want to avoid a good plan on paper/bad plan in person.
  • I work tonight then we are going to a haunted house (not excited to be up from 5:30am until who knows when probably past midnight). I work Saturday and Sunday. Catching the second half of the packer game after work. Then somewhere in my spare time editing photos and food prep and housework.

  • Yay, TGIF!

I was on holidays this week and only worked yesterday and today, yet I am very ready for the weekend. I plan on going to a "spooky walk" organized by my town with my niece and nephew, and going to see my BFF to cuddle her one month old.

Also, it snowed here today, and it is so pretty!

    Happy anniversary @sarawifenow :)

  • I wanted to just sit at home but we have to go to lunch or dinner tomorrow with MIL and SIL. DH plans on telling them about the pregnancy tomorrow and he's pretty excited. I just want to nap. I can't get too mad though bc my dad already knows. I'm just kinda bummed bc I know meal time will get dragged out to 'omg let's ask 5 billion questions/freak out time'.

Then Sunday I have to clean up around the house. I've been slacking and the bedroom carpet needs cleaning too. Boo. I just need to remind myself... First appointment next Tuesday and vacation time in the middle of nowhere away from everyone the next Monday. Soooo looking forward to that.
  • We're going to celebrate my SIL's birthday on Sunday. Nothing Saturday, I don't think.

  • We're going to trade in our truck for a family vehicle tomorrow! So excited about a new car- less excited about car payments. We decided on a Honda CR-V and had two dealerships trying to convince us to use them. Then on Sunday we're going to a Barktober Fest at one of Hubby's favorite micro-breweries in Richmond- the money from the entrance fee goes to a dog rescue group and we get to socialize our pups more. Hopefully we'll also start the process of ripping up carpet so we can get closer to actually working on the nursery.
  • Celebrating MIL bday tonight.  DH has a car show Sat morning and the rest of the weekend building a fence in our backyard

Tomorrow we have another birthday party (like every weekend!) and my son is so excited, he has been singing Happy Birthday non-stop! Then on Sunday, it will be all day at the church since my son and I will both be singing (he is leading the congregation in Jesus Loves Me after the baptism...he does these super cute hand motions and especially loves singing loudly that Jesus is "STWONG!!!" and making a Hulk pose) and MH is building a new storage case/bookshelf for the Sunday school classroom. Also, I will be working with one of the youths who is extremely talented at piano to develop a music-based faith curriculum and repertoire for a new Cherub choir. I think it will be a great experience for her to take a leadership role with the littles and I am so excited to finally be able to use all this music-based faith curriculum I have been working on! I am a member of our Christian Ed Committee and have been helping grow our program (even engaging in a little nepotism to hire my sister as the main Sunday school teacher!) to the point that our tiny congregation has over 20 kids age 4-12 in Sunday school, 5 age 12-16 in Breakfast Club (a cool, tween/teen hang out on Sunday mornings where they have breakfast and can talk about how their faith affects their everyday lives), and 8 in confirmation class (which I help run as a mentor for youth). Then, Sunday supper at my mom's like every week.

  • Tomorrow I am having a Magic Mike XXL movie night, I'm so excited to see it. Sunday I am taking the dog for a play date while H spends the day with DS.
  • We're going out to dinner tonight with my cousin & her husband (they're our go-to couple-friends and we're pregnant at the same time). I'm going to try to convince the group to go to a Mexican restaurant b/c I'm craving it, but I need to see if my cousin is craving anything in particular. Later this weekend, we'll probably take DS to the fall festival at one of the nearby farms. He loves goats so pretty much any chance we get to pet them, we take.
  • We are finally meeting up with DHs parents this weekend. We were supposed to see them the last 2 weeks to give them the news but they cancelled on us both times. So DH broke the news over the phone last week. Meeting in the city for lunch to celebrate!

Sunday is football sunday in our house. Off to the neighborhood bar to watch the Steelers! Virgin Bloody Marys for me :)

And tonight we are watching our FAVORITE movie- Halloween!

Hoping to squeeze a nap and a little cleaning in there somewhere.

  • My husband is working this weekend. Thankfully he is only in the office tomorrow morning and then taking call for the rest.

I need to get things ready for my daughter's second birthday party next weekend. I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm usually on top of things, but I've had zero motivation and energy to do anything besides the basics lately. We have lots to accomplish this weekend.

I'm also going to try some DIY. I am the least crafty person out there, but I watched a you tube video, so I'm all good ;) I'm going to try to paint and distress some mason jars. The other project is spray painting lids of jars gold and attaching plastic animals that will also be spray painted gold. Sounds simple enough, but I'm sure I'll run into some sort of issue.

    I already feel tired!

  • It's a crazy wedding weekend for us. One tonight and another 3 hours away tomorrow. Other than dinners with family this will be my first time around a bunch of alcohol as the sober one. I'm a little afraid of tomorrow's wedding because it's one of DH's fraternity brothers and they like to drink.... I refuse to babysit.

Edit: Well my daughter was going to spend the night with MIL but that changed. She will be with my dad and brother instead so it still works out. My husband and my work best friend planned a belated birthday dinner for me. It will be a group of my work friends and their plus one. It's going to be fun to see everyone outside of work. =)

For the rest of the weekend, we plan to take my daughter to go see Hotel Transylvania 2 and the Zoo Boo. Fun stuff!

  • Tomorrow I spend all day with H and helping him pack. He has to leave Sunday for a week for work training. Im sad he will be gone- I don't do well by myself. But my mom and I are going to get together a lot this week so Im not so alone. My dog is such a daddy's boy he loses his mind when H isn't home by 6 o'clock. So a week of him not being here will not be fun for anyone. Glad I have TB to keep me occupied  :)
  • @cortney626 Hands down Luke Bryan concert is the winner of TGIF! How fun!

I am hosting a Home Show all weekend for work and have to go to my boss's open house tonight. So pretty much work all weekend. My Boss's house is huge Mansion so I am curious to see what it looks like all finished. Also my mom is watching DS and SS's so Yay! Hubby gets to come out with me.

I'm not sure what I will say about not drinking. I'm trying to lose weight?? Like my co workers would believe me I have been eating nothing but carbs because that's what this Lil Panda wants. I'm not a big drinker unless it's a special occasion so maybe I can slide... designated driver might be a good one too.
  • I live in Kansas so of course we watch our boys in Blue every day they are on. So tonight and tomorrow it's all about KC ROYALS and of course my kiddos sports too!
  • We have tickets to a traditional afternoon British tea tomorrow and Sunday I'm having a girl's brunch with a friend who's a new mother.  Still trying to find appropriate maternity clothes for work, too...
  • Tomorrow we're going to a farm out in Queens with a pumpkin patch, hay rides, and a corn maze. I'm really excited to get into the fall spirit and pick up some pumpkins for a new fall tablescape. Tomorrow night we'll probably watch a movie on demand and just chill. I've got brunch plans with a friend on Sunday but kind of hoping they fall through so I can have a lazy sweatpants day. I've got to fit in laundry and cleaning at some point, too.

Where in queens? I'm trying to find a corn maze but they all are in jersey and way out east Long Island.

  • @yogahh it's pretty far out there in Floral Park, an hour drive from our neighborhood in BK heights. We're taking a zipcar...

The corn maze looks really cool!!

  • @ladysamlady just looked it up. Going next Saturday for sure! Especially since there is a haunted house then too! I'm so excited :)

  • @yogahh just got back from the farm and it was was really fun! The corn maze was awesome - took us 45 mins! You'll love it! It only took us 45 mins to get there, too.
  • @ladysamlady you're the third person to recommend that farm! We are taking DS tomorrow morning since I've heard all of the NJ ones are insanely crowded.
