Anyone else have gestational diabetes last pregnancy? I've been testing my blood since the second I saw the line, and modified my diet a bit. I figure we can use a place to cry when everyone else is having sugary snacks lol.
I had it last time and then afterward I was "glucose intolerant". I guess it did not fully go way with me. At first my endo told me I'd have to finger prick the whole pregnancy but when I actually got pregnant her sang a different tune. He told me once it's confirmed via ultrasound (next week) I should finger prick for a week or so and if they are in check, not worry until the glucose test. YESSSSSSS.
I had GD for the first time in my last pregnancy. I've already started checking my levels again, too, and have been adjusting my diet accordingly.

I had GD and it never went away. I am so lucky I am already on a crap load of insulin and checking sugars 6 times a day. In here for anyone who needs support!
@BOH1025 What kind of numbers do you/did you have that made your doctor prescribe insulin?

i ended up with type 2 after having gd so I am well controlled. As soon as I got my bfp I got off of my oral meds and switched to insulin. Pregnancy numbers are much more strict than what i was used to. Mine were ok for type 2 but too high for gd. Here is what my numbers are expected to be: Fasting: less than 90 before meals: 60-90 1hr. After meals 120 Before bed: 100
I didn't have it my first pregnancy.... I did my second (though I failed the 3 hour extremely marginally). I'm hoping I can get by without it this time! I'm pretty sure our risk for it a second time around is increased.... But it's never a given (unless of course you're already diabetic).

Had it with my first. My last two pregnancies were fine (well, no indications of GD - I did have pre E with one). My doc told me the best thing I could do to avoid the diagnosis again was to eat healthy in the beginning of the pregnancy.
I had it with my last two pregnancies. Earlier this year my naturopath and I had a long convo about it. She feels like my gluten intolerance is the key to my gd. This time around I am cutting gluten to prevent it from developing.

How are your levels? I've been mostly ok but I've drastically modified my diet (strictly healthy no processed sugar etc) and once or twice they came back high
Had it with my first and was insulin dependent for it, didn't have it at all with my second. I credit the 45lbs (+15lbs from prev. pregnancy) lost. This time I'm starting where I was with my 1st so I anticipate having it again. I was eating really healthy until this past week when MS hit hard. I didn't have it with the last 2, just at night I would get a little nauseous but I would sleep through it. I was checking my glucose throughout my 2nd pregnancy off and on but it gave me severe panic attacks. I passed my 1 hour and cried like a baby.
@lyzza350 If I have a high number, there's usually a reason. The only number I ever have trouble with is my first thing in the morning number. I need to start setting an alarm and eating a snack around 1 or 2 am because my blood sugar goes so low that my liver then dumps a bunch of glucose and my morning number is high. The number limits my midwife gave me are not as strict as the ones mentioned above though.
