Those who had back labor...

My EDD is tomorrow and I haven't really gotten any sleep last night, it started with some menstural like cramping yesterday morning and then by night I was having what I would describe as sharp radiating pelvic pain, like if the baby was engaging more. Now I'm having constant lower back pain the doesn't go away with moving but it is not timetable. Anyone else experience this? I'm hoping I'm going into labor.

Re: Those who had back labor...

  • I had back pain my entire pregnancy and back labor with my first. She was born "sunny side up" so during each contraction her spine kept hitting mine. I suggest if you haven't already start seeing a chiropractor. It helped keep the pain manageable!

  • I had back labor only - no belly pain at all - with DS 2 years ago. I remember having on/off back cramps for a few days that slowly became rhythmic. When I was in active labor, it ebbed and flowed and the pain never truly went away. There were no real breaks but the intensity was just higher during contractions. DS was sunny side up and I'm hoping this LO is in the right position this time around!!

  • I had back labor with my baby. It definitely felt like a constant pain. The only way I was really able to time it was to time when the pain would peak so that's when I would start the timer. The pain radiated to my front in my lower pelvic area. It wasn't until I got to the hospital that they told me baby was probably in a bad spot. I got some IV meds because I was dehydrated and she moved and the back labor mostly went away and she was here a few short hours later. Good luck!
