Mastitis?

For the past week my body has felt very achy on and off. Some days I can barely function and others I'm just fine. Other than that, my throat is very swollen. I haven't had a fever and my breasts are not sore or swollen. I am wondering if the aches could be a symptom of mastitis? I don't think the throat thing is a symptom. Looking for some insight from those of you poor mamas that have experience with masitis. I EBF and have not had any issues with it.

    Doesn't sound like it to me. It comes on pretty suddenly and your breast would be sore, lumpy, and/or have a red splotch. You would probably also have chills in addition to being achy. M

    When my son was about a week old I had a 104 fever, was achy, and had chills in 80 degree heat. My nipples were a straight mess and my boobs were v lumpy... Dr diagnosed me with mastitis and once I started on antibiotics and met with a LC for latch help everything went away.
    Obvi check with your dr, but it sounds like maybe just a cold?

    If your breasts aren't sore or swollen, you probably DON'T have mastitis, just a cold. That still sucks, though. I hope you feel better soon!

    It's definitely not a cold. I have never experienced something like this before. I'm going to give my doctor a shout in the morning.

    I was having 100.4 fevers, chills, and body aches for a week before any lumps or sore breasts. My nipples were a raw mess though. I called the doc because I was sure something had gone wrong with the c section. They felt confident it was mastitis although my breast were relatively normal. They gave me an antibiotic and before I even started taking it I felt these painful lumps in my breasts. At first I thought they were small milk pockets but they got very hard and painful.

    Long story short it might still be mastitis coming on slowly so call your doc.

    I was very achy. I felt like I had a body bruise. No other symptoms. I finally went to the walk in 3 days later and the doc said all my blood tests were normal and it is probably just a hormone that relaxes your body prior to pregnancy and then messes with you after??? Something like that.
