in October 2015 Moms
I'm 2cm dilated, 70% effaced....anyone know how long before I'll go into active labor?? I'm due the 20th of Oct.

    I'm also due the 20th. I am just now 3 cm but hardly effaced. No one really knows until it happens. I think I will meet my baby this weekend but it's just a hunch and the Doc wouldn't give me any idea. I'm sure it will be soon for you. Good luck!

    You could go into labor tonight or you could go into labor in a couple weeks. The amount you are dilated can stay the same for a few weeks.

    If I don't have him by my due date (the 20th), doctor is going to first try sweeping my membranes....should put me into active labor hopefully and I can head to hospital.

    Sorry but as PP said. Could be tonight, could be after the EDD. A friend of mine was a 5 and 80% a full week before she went into labor!!

    Dr said today, 39 weeks, I am 1 1/2 and only about 50%. But she can feel the head! She stimulated my cervix which was uncomfortable, hoping to stimulate hormone production. I wish there was a simple formula as I'm sure you do too, but I guess it's a flip of the coin. Dr said hopefully in the next week we will have more progress. Ugh I'm ready to be done! Good luck
