Essential oils during labor?

Just curious if anyone is planning on or has used essential oils in preparation of labor and delivery or even during/afterwards? I have been using oils for a while now, and plan to use them mildly in labor- just wondering if any others have experiences to share? Thanks ladies!

  • I was thinking about using some for aromatherapy also, but am not sure which scent(s) to use. I'm thinking one scent that is calming and another that is energizing.

  • You have to be careful with essential oils bc they should be diluted. You could have a bad skin reaction if not. I found some good massage oils at Fruitful Yield, they are placed in the same area as essential oils.
  • I plan to be using Clary Sage and Ylang Ylang during labor. Also diffusing lavender. I also have some other oils on hand to hopefully help with the after labor pains. LOVE my oils!
  • I plan on diffusing lavender while I labor
  • I'm using frankincense, ylang ylang, lavender, and maybe peppermint. Each diluted in either sweet almond or avocado oil. I love them! The smell great and the lavender and ylang ylang in particular are so relaxing
  • We have lots of oils packed along with carrier oils and diffuser. Lavender, peppermint, peace and calming, valor, en-er-gee, fennel, clary sage and frank just to name a few!
  • I will be bringing a diffuser & will be using lavender, orange, and peppermint oils
