Labor without bloody show/mucus plug loss?

Did any of you go into labor before you lost your mucus plug or had bloody show? Do you always lose it before labor? I understand that if you lose your plug it doesn't really tell you when labor will come.

  • You don't necessarily lose it before going into labor.
  • No. I've only ever even seen my plug once (I'm having my 5th) and was in the hospital in labor when I did. My doctor says mine is hanging by a thread - tmi, I know.
  • I have never experienced either of those and this will be my third baby
  • I lost my mucus plug but didn't get a bloody show until I was in transition.
  • Never saw it with my first.... Just increased discharge until the end. The day I went into labor it had a little color... Brown, red but nothing crazy or obvious.

  • I've never seen my MP nor do I recall any bloody show with either child. When my water broke, everything was pretty clear with a slight tint of pink.
  • I didn't lose my mucus plug with my first pregnancy until a dilation check during labor! Never had bloody show either....Labor can definitely happen without either of these! ;-)
  • You can lose your mucus plug slowly, in bits and pieces. It will look like snot. Not all of them fall out like a cork.
  • Some people just lose it slowly and never notice! That was me with my first!
