Baby Brain???

I'm having THE worst time in school right now... I'm 31 and in college. I'm usually ok with my classes but lately I just feel so stupid with simple things, or even not so simple things that would just me a litter extra time to learn. I just cannot retain much, and am having a horrible time with numbers. Is this normal?? It's incredibly frustrating! ~X(

    It's such a common thing and so hard! I teach fourth grade and literally forgot how to borrow when doing a subtraction problem on the board yesterday morning. Also I was working on paperwork at a meeting with my grade partners and my brain was mush. My co-worker jokingly asked me if I was pregnant. Me thinks this will be a tough secret to keep.  ;)

    Unfortunately it's normal. I also teach 4th grade and totally screwed up trying to teach my kids how to find the volume of a cube. Oops. I'm also worried about how this is going to affect my personal school work. I just started working on my second master's degree this week and even though this is basic stuff I should know, my brain isn't cooperating. Something tells me that my professors aren't going to accept "baby brain" as an excuse for sub-par work.

    Totally normal.
    I forgot my phone at work last night, which I have literally never done since I got my first cell phone in 16 years ago.  And I speak two foreign languages and what used to be a little overlap is now hopelessly muddled - and I'm speaking to patients!!  I'm now using the translator phone:)

    Thanks, that makes me feel better...I literally went home almost crying yesterday after I got to campus. I didn't even make it to class, I felt so overwhelmed I left!

    I'm a marketing analyst and this pregnancy brain is KILLING me at work. I can't focus, no attention span. Looking at numbers makes me feel like I'm trying to read Chinese.

    I'd say this is normal, it's my first but I have friends who went through the same thing.

    My mom asked me when my husbands grad school graduation was and I totally pulled up google and typed in "Bob's graduation" thinking it would know and give me the answer. Nope, that is most definitely not how it works.

    OMG YES! Thank you! That's exactly how I felt looking at my school work... like it was freaking Chinese. I went home crying feeling so defeated

    Yep. Me too. The last two days I missed the turn that I take to go pick my 2 yr old up from daycare. I never do that and I pick her up every single day. I'm just super spacey.

    That was one of my earliest symptoms. I didn't think about it in the moment.... But when I woke up nauseous two days later (and subsequently took a positive test) it all made sense. I was making pancakes..... From a "just add water" box. There was batter (both wet and dry) on my table, counter, and floor.... And two broken bowls by the time I was done.

    It was like a comedy scene from a bad family movie.

    Oh... And I burned them. Of course. it's like my brain just turned off.
