Cycle Status: CD7. Doing a natural FET sometime this month so I start doing OPKs this week and have a monitoring appt. already set up for Saturday morning but may go in earlier depending on if I get LH surge before then.
QOTW: Glazed carrots. So much brown sugar, so much butter, and I can pretend they're healthy since it's carrots.
Cycle day 9...feeling a bit defeated. On Friday at my appt I only had 1 follie on each side. I know I am 3 years older since doing IVF last time but last time I had 4 on each side by that time. At the appointment today the DR said I had 4 under size 10 on the right and a few on the left this morning. He then said my lining looked thicker and my estrogen will probably go up...does anyone know what this means in the IVF world? I had to do stims for 14 days last time and am thinking it will go that way this time, too. Tonight will be my 9th injection...
Fave fall food is stew! I found a blog I like called the cozy apron and she shared an Octoberfest Stew recipe that I loved last year. Even though we aren't quite having fall temps in Houston I made the stew again last weekend and it was so yummy! I recently made a Tuscan Chicken Stew, too that was quite tasty.
Cycle Status: AF FINALLY arrived on Saturday night! Whoo hoo! It will be gone for our trip to Aruba this week!! The adoption agency we're working with changed our social worker to another office. I think things were moving so slow because our first contact had a huge work load, hoping the change works in our favor!!
QOTW: CHILI Ina Gartner has a kick ass chicken chili recipe!!
IVF #1, Stimmed for 12 days, ER 8/22/14, 9 retrieved, 7M, 7F!! Freeze all due to fluid in uterus.
FET end of October 2014 cancelled due to fluid in uterus due to possible c-scar defect
Surgery scheduled 12/12/14 to fix possible isthmocele
3/26/15 transferred one 8 cell grade 4 embryo and one 6 cell grade 3 embryo = slow rising betas for 2+ weeks = ectopic MTX shot 4/29/15
Repeat c-scar surgery June 2015
2nd and last IVF cycle August 2015, stimmed for 12 days, 2 egg retrieved, both mature and both fertilized. Transferred both 8-cell embryos on Day 3, beta 9/5/15 = BFFN
Cycle status: who knows..we are technically on cd 31 but had a consult on wed with another dr. He said everything we already know and has no new ideas so we are sticking with our plan of IUI's until the new year, then one last IUI in 2016 and if nothing by then IVF in late january/february of 2016. In the meantime while there they did an ultrasound and bloodwork to see what's going on with this cancelled cycle. I had 2 or 3 follicles of about 10-11mm but a thin lining at like 5.5 or so. My estrogen was 183 so they said most likely I won't ovulate and will get a light period in about 2 weeks. However the nurse said there is a chance one follicle and my lining will grow and ovulate so we are trying at home by baby dancing every other night. So now we just wait for something to happen. Once a period comes we are doing a clomid/gonal F IUI cycle
Favorite cool weather food is soups...I love soup but rarely make them myself. I need good recipes if anyone has..In the fall though I LOVE butternut squash soup!
@Roeni - sounds like you will be stimming for a bit more. GL!
@Frenchteachermama - Yay for AF arriving and not ruining Aruba! Have a great time! And yay for new people who aren't overwhelmed - hope that speeds everything up for you!
@rachlee2010 - Hope you don't have to move on to IVF, FX!
Cycle Status: CD4 - I'm on day 2 of Clomid, go in for Monitoring on Monday 10/19, will likely schedule our second IUI late next week or next weekend.
Fave fall food: A curried pumpkin soup that I make in the crock pot, paired with fresh bread from my bread machine. Lovelovelove it! Also, the deep dish apple pie with crumble topping that I only make once a year for Thanksgiving because it's soooo much work (but so worth it!)
New! I was on Trouble TTC board, but have 2 daughters age 9 and 4. I was feeling guilty for even mentioning them when I thought I'd check for a board like this. TTC since April 2014, PCOS diagnosis in Aug 2015. On metformin, letrezole, and trigger + TI. I'm 31, so hopefully can see a BFP before 35. I'm super down right now though, we have insurance, but the bills are adding up quickly and I'm questioning what to do.
Cycle status: CD 3, just too some letrezole this morning. Follies looking good, everything seems fine, except that I have zero bfps.
Welcome @yellingbanana !! I was very active on 3T as well with ttc my first. IF treatment costs really are insane. You are lucky you have insurance, although I know some plans are better than others. We are 100% OOP and for child #2 and this second IVF we will be over 20k deep, which is less than many ladies here even. I know it can be overwhelming. Huge hugs!!!! I hope this treatment plan is all you need edit to add- I am mobile so I can't see how many medicated cycles you have done so far... What cycle number is this with this plan?
@yellingbanana welcome! We have insurance as well, but the lifetime max of 10,000 was pretty much consumed with my meds. Unreal that they would have cost us $16K out of pocket!!!! So I know all too well about IVF finance troubles
