Anovulatory period after miscarriage?

Hi ladies! I've been lurking for a while but not yet posted. We found out 5 weeks ago that we'd had a missed miscarriage- I was supposed to be 11 weeks pregnant, but the scan showed the baby had passed at 8w. I had a D&C one month ago exactly. I bled for 10 days and it took a while for my hcg to drop. A week ago it was 35, and on Monday it was 8. My period started early this morning and it's really thrown me as I'm pretty confident I've not ovulated (I've been taking OPK's, and I think my hcg needed to be lower than 5 to ovulate). Has anyone else had any experience of this or similar? We really want to TTC again and it's so tough not knowing what's happening with your body! Thanks so much.

    I am currently in a very similar situation. I am 3 weeks post d&c and last week my hcg was 7 and I believe I ovulated on Friday. Definitely possible. Also opks are very finicky and often miss the lh surge or don't work for all women. Are you temping? That is the only way to confirm ovulation.

    I second the temping suggestion. My d&c was a month ago tomorrow. I started temping 10 days ago and Fertilty Friend has me as ovulating on Friday.

    I definitely second temping. After my mc I had 4 anovulatory cycles. Part of that was probably due to grief/stress. Temping is the only way to know for sure if and when you ovulate. Good luck!
