Yup, I third the breast milk. I put some on a wash cloth and just gently pat his face with it. It reduces the redness almost right away and the breakouts look better and are almost gone a few hours later.
Breast milk didn't work for us when we tried it. I used a combo of Mustela PhysiObebe no rinse cleanser and Honest Co. Organic Healing Balm (both natural products and safe for bubs). Hers ended up turning into eczema, but it cleared up the acne.
Breastmilk didn't work for us either. We've been washing with baby soap and that's been helping. Our pediatrician said it will probably start to clear up more now that we've switched to formula. I guess hormones in breastmilk can make it flare up.
My pediatrician said you don't need to do anything. He said it clears up on its own by 2 months old. Not the most attractive thing but the babies are still cute no matter what!
It is hard to look at! My DD has acne all over her cheeks and cradle cap to boot. She is still a cutie but I cannot wait for it to away. Anyone else dealing with both?
After trying breast milk, home remedies, soap etc. I left it alone completely just rinsing with water at the end of the day. Cleared up in no time!
I didn't use anything yesterday and just used a wet washcloth at bedtime and I can't believe how much better it all looks today. Leaving it alone again and hoping it continues improving.
Every where I read it says use a little baby soap and gently rub with a warm wash cloth. It definitely helps. We use Johnson & Johnson head to toe baby wash.
My LO has baby acne and cradle cap but both aren't bad; you have to be up really close to him to notice (so my husband and I are the only ones who are aware of it). For his cradle cap, I've been using a warm wet washcloth and his baby brush--I wash his forehead, brush away the flakes, and then wash it again. I'm going to try breastmilk on the acne.
