Infertility

PCOS and miscarriage rates

Hi girls! My fertility diagnosis was pcos and my DH has male factor infertility. It's seems as though our first round of IVF may have worked and that we might be pregnant! I've gotten a few positive pregnancy tests but have to wait until Wednesday for my beta. Of course I've been freaking out because of all the stats I've read online about pcos and miscarriage. Some say it can be as high as 45% for the first 12 weeks?! I was hoping someone out there with pcos could tell me if they were able to have a happy and healthy 9 months even with pcos? Any input is greatly appreciated!:)

  • Thank you @LCK0830! You are always able to calm me down and make me feel better! I was actually going to post on the other board and let you know that my bloating comes and goes to. Sometimes I really notice it and other times I can hardly tell at all :) I really hardly have any symptoms, if we didn't do ivf and I didn't have a positive pregnancy test, I would have sworn it didn't work. It is so weird how each person responds so differently to the hormones.
  • I'm wondering if my symptoms are just from trauma from the ER and ET.

Your beta is in 2 days! I'll be looking forward to your update!

  • I have the same fear and same Dx (PCOS/MFI) And I'm 34 so there's that on top! I'd love to see some success stories, thanks for asking this and thanks @LCK0830 for the positive example!

We are with you through this 1st tri! Hope your beta on Wednesday goes well and you get a nice high number to help with the nerves. Praying for a H&H 9mths for you!!
  • 33 year old with PCOS here. Three ectopic miscarriages before moving on to IVF. Fresh cycle was negative. First Frozen cycle was positive. I am now just starting my 7th month of pregnancy. And don't get too worried about the whole 12 weeks. The risk of mc in pregnancy reduces greatly at 8 weeks. I was released by my IVF clinic at 8 weeks and was told that my risk was so slight. Haven't had a single complication to date. It's hard not to stress since you conceived via a stressful way but in reality, what happens will happen. Nothing that you can do. So just try to mellow out and go on with life for a while.
  • I have pcos and used ivf to finally get pregnant. I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy resulting in an amazing baby boy. Hopefully yours will be the same! Congratulations! Enjoy it and try your best to relax :)
