No heartbeat - Update

Today I went in for my first ultrasound - expecting to see the first picture of my baby and hear its heartbeat. I was excited to show my 3 year old a picture of the new baby. I knew something was wrong when I didn't see anything in the sac. The ultrasound technician asked me if I've had any cramping. I got no pictures and never heard the heartbeat. I sat in the waiting room perplexed and worried. I was moved into a room and the doctor came and told me they couldn't find a heartbeat and I have 3 options. 1. Have a miscarriage naturally 2. Have a d&c - if that is what it's called. 3.Take an abortion pill.
I was a blubbering mess at this point and opted to miscarry naturally. So, now I'm sitting here wondering when this will happen.
I never understood the hurt of miscarriage. I wish I never had to experience this hurt.
UPDATE
So It's been the longest two weeks of my life... I got another ultrasound yesterday and was expecting to either see a 9 week baby or nothing at all. Instead, the technician asked me if we saw a fetal pole last time... nope - So in the last 2 weeks there has been growth/development but still no heartbeat. My doctor still suggests a d&c or take a pill. He believes this isn't a viable pregnancy. In the last 3 days I have been so sick... morning sickness everyday. It's so frustrating not having complete closure on this. My doctor couldn't explain the change from 2 weeks ago to now except possibly slow fetal growth. He just said if I wanted to wait another week and do another ultrasound that I could. My ultrasound picture from yesterday resembles 6 week development. I doubt I'm off on my dates by that much.

I am so so sorry. It is THE worst to find out at the u/s. I also had no symptoms and found out at our 11w u/s, and we had heard the HB once before, it was a shock. Please message me if you would like to talk. I wish you healing and thinking of you.

4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!
My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!
Take any time you need, and try to express that to your husband - it is so hard.
