Fitting 3 car seats

With baby 3 on the way we need to fit a third car seat. I'd love to put them in the middle row as the back is a PITA to get to. We have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder with latch behind the driver and passenger. There are three anchors in the middle row. I currently have DS1 ff in a Britax contour and DS2 rf in a Britax marathon. Our stroller is a baby trend so I'd like something compatible with that. Any suggestions? Britax seats are pretty wide, what are some more narrow seats? I want an infant seat for this new baby, not a convertible.

Re: Fitting 3 car seats

  • I think I've heard the Diono and Radian are good to fit 3 in when you switch to a convertible for the new baby. I would also check with the car seat for littles Facebook page...if you send them a private message they will respond with different options.

  • @Bear14+ Thanks for the FB info I'll check that out! I've heard those are great too, and they'd be less expensive than a new car, but $350 for one seat when we'd need two or three is a lot.

  • I have a chicco keyfit that I love, I don't know if it's compatible with baby trend, but the seat is decently compact for a bucket seat and they're well made. I got the keyfit 30 but absolutely didn't need it. DD is only 19lbs at 10 months and already in a convertible

    >.> Diono is the manufacturer for the Radian, so that's kind of like saying, "Nissan and Pathfinder".

We have a Radian and love it, but it is REALLY annoying RF -- takes up a ton of space, even with the extra foam pad they sell to make it not quite so bad. But it's a fantastic seat otherwise, and really nice if you ever fly anywhere because they're narrow enough to fit in airplane seats easily.

You can try adjusting the orientation to jigsaw them together -- so you have the FF kid in between the two RF kids. Sometimes that makes things easier!
