Newborn with cold

This is the saddest thing ever. My 2 week old got her brothers cold and she is struggling. She keeps coughing and has runny eyes and a stuffy nose. It is so so sad to sit by and watch and not be able to do much. Going to get saline drops soon. I wish there was more I could do:(

    @beckygoetz93 try a humidifier as well. This should help.

    Oh no! Hang in there, colds are so terrible especially if you're dealing with more than one sick babe. We always elevate their mattress when sick too. If you're in a bassinet, a small folded towel at one end should do the trick. Poor baby. Hope everyone in your house is feeling better soon!

    My little guy (6 weeks) is super congested and has a little cough as well (just from being so congested). I don't think it's a cold but more congestion due to the change in temp over the past few days and alternating between air and heat in the house.

    When he's having trouble breathing, I bring him in the bathroom with me, shut the door, and turn the shower on hot so the steam can help open up his sinuses. It seems to help! I also just bought the saline drops and will be trying them today, as well as a humidifier at night.

    I feel so bad for him too! I know how much it sucks when you're all stuffed up and it's hard to see your little one go through that, especially when they can't take medicine to help relieve the symptoms!

    My LO has croup. :( my other 2 kids got sick from school and gave it to baby. It's so sad. He's congested and chokes on mucous.

    Same situation here too. My oldest came home with it...I sent her to my mom's house to try to keep it away, but to late rest of household got it...including me....everyone else got meds but me and LO....humidifier, saline drops, bulb to suck out boogies, home made chicken soup for you , and some black tea and honey to help. If ur breastfeeding there's not much you can take either. Hang in there !! Watch LO like a hawk tho for breathing problems. It's been a week for us and we are still trying to recover but we are getting better slowly.

    My 6 week old just getting over his cold saline drops and nose Frida plus humidifier. The nurse also said shoot 5 ml of warm water to clear throat and make bathroom steamy and bring them in. I felt horrible and every one was like aren't you breastfeeding he shouldn't have a cold...
