At 39wks2days, our little man decided he had cooked long enough! At around 4:30am on October 11th, I woke up to intense pains. As a FTM, I had NO idea what they were since my water didn't break. At around 5:30, I decided, labor or not, the pain was not normal and called the hospital. I was told what I had begun to expect, that I was in labor and to eat something and make my way to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital at 6:10am and I was put on a monitor. The nurse confirmed I was 3cm dilated and I was moved into the labor room. My contractions started getting more frequent quickly, and my OB broke my water at about 7:30am. I was given an epidural around 2 hours after arriving. Then began the waiting! I had a particularly sick pregnancy, and was still throwing up all through my labor. At around 2pm, the nurse confirmed I was 9cm dilated and we would give the baby a couple hours to make his way a little further down so I wasn't pushing for too long. At 4:30pm, it was time! Still throwing up between pushes, DH and my mom helped me through the pain and we welcomed our little man at 6:10pm, exactly 12 hours after arriving! Weighed 6lbs 7oz and looking exactly like daddy!
I'm so happy to introduce all of you to our little guy, Taylor John Charles Wright!
