Hello I'm L!
My partner and I have wanted a baby for two years now.
The first year I stopped BCP and we were NTNP, my cycles were pretty average at 26-28 days.
When I lost my job I fell into depression, I went and I had the depo injection.
I had the injection in October 2013. I only had one administered and when I got my new job I moved on to BCP again.
I took my last BCP in May 2014. We have been actively TTC since June 2014 with no luck.
After stopping BC my cycles have been as short as 10 days and as long as 38 days. They seem to be slowly getting longer.
I have been using different methods of tracking since February including OPKS and and app, I tried then tracking my CM but to no avail.
My doctor refused to take me seriously as she says I'm still young and my cycles are still working themselves out.
I find this irritating as I'm 22 not 14 and my cycles were perfectly normal until I had the Depo.
I am joining this board to find tips and support with ladies that are going through this same struggle and I hope to make some friends.
Re: Nice to meet you all (mental illness mentioned)
I would definitely be doing some research, and if your dr didn't take you seriously, find a different one. Regardless of age, if you've been trying for over a year and your cycles are super irregular then you should be taken seriously. I'm pretty sure that if your cycles are past a certain #of days, that you aren't ovulating. I can't remember what that number is, but I thought it was 38 days.
Look up another dr
Welcome, and it's definitely time to see a new doctor. It's not your doctor's business to judge whether or not you're ready to have a child, only to help you get healthy. Definitely take charge and get a referral if they aren't going to take you seriously.
I am no expert on the depo shot, but I've heard your story enough times to wonder if the shot does more than it's supposed to. My best friend had the shot in 2011 and still hasn't been regular since.
