Baby just cries

So my 5 week old son just cries. He cries for hours. He cries during the day ,, he cries at night. I have taken him to the Dr. 3 times. She says he is fine and healthy . He is gaining weight and that's all that matters apparently. She says he probably has colic.

I have tried everything to calm him . Skin to skin, rocking , diff formulas , swings, pacifier, swaddling , walks, baby carrier, rock n play, gas drops, gripe water, I have read happiest baby on the block, tried all the tips in the book. I have tried play mats, the mama roo,

I am exhausted I have so much anxiety when he is sleeping because I don't know what to do for him when he wakes up. I have to return to work in 2 weeks. I made an appointment with his pediatrician again tomorrow. I feel like they think I'm crazy.

Is anyone else dealing with this???

This has to be total colic, right? How long has it been going on? The good news is this WILL end, just a question of when. You must be beyond exhausted. My only thought is two things: as you push through this, keep trying anything and everything, when one thing doesn't work move onto the next and just keep trying any tips/tricks you can read about/hear about. The other thing, can you afford a post partum doula? Mine offers in home post partum relief just for these types of things. It's a 4 hour minimum commitment (and her rate is $30/hour) but basically she would come in and take care of baby while you can sleep/rest/eat or give you a reprieve while you get out of the house. I know it's a chunk of money, but what is your sanity worth?! Even if you have a family member or close friend who can do it for free instead - it will help you to get through this colicky stage. If someone can just watch your LO for 3-4 hours so you can "recharge" I think that would help you tremendously. I know you are looking for the magical solution to fix the crying but it may help to just accept LO has major colic and simply has to grow out of it and you need to find a way to endure it with them - I feel for you, I seriously would have a mental breakdown dealing with this without someone helping me thru it. Seriously, give consideration to having someone come in to help you, either professional help like a doula or a trusted family member. Keep us posted - hope LO stops crying soon!!!

My oldest son was like this as an infant. He went on reflux meds and was a totally different baby.

I was dealing with the same exact thing and it ended up being reflux. We have had her on zantac and it has helped a lot. She still has her nights and times of crying but its way less.

I feel like that is exactly what he has , I have mentioned it to the pediatrician. Hopefully tomorrow when we go in she will believe me.

My son will NOT lay flat on his back without screaming. He constantly has stuff coming out of his mouth. I have never met a newborn that drools so this has been concerning since it started. He makes the most horrible sounds when he sleeps and nasty faces , constantly swallowing too.
I hope he starts to feel better soon. He just isn't fun to be around. It's exhausting for the rest of the family too

I have a call into my pedi for the same reason. Lots of crying, with us it's during and after feedings though. Lots of screaming. Poor little thing. I'm hoping to try some Zantac to see if it helps. Remember that this is phase and will end! (That's what I keep telling myself!)

If your doctor still tells your kiddo is fine I would search for a second opinion.
We are going in to the doctor with a crying baby because we are getting thrush and I read that babies can be more gassy than usual and cry a lot with it.
